The pad on the inside is covered with a silky fabric that’s cool to the touch and made placing it inside the bed cover easy. The sides are firm but not hard. My dog is old, painful, and picky. She typically lays on the floor next to whatever bed we buy and she actually chooses to lay on this one. So far we are pleasantly surprised with this purchase. We also bought a cooling pad/blanket to place on top, and the shape and size of the bed is perfect for adding pads, pillows, etc. for reference: our dog is a Great Pyrenees mix, very full, dense coat, 72lbs, is 10 years old, and has back, hip, and leg pain. The bed is not hard for her to step on, and the pad is sturdy enough where it stays solid when she stands or lays on it, it doesn’t go flat or leave harsh indents- while also being soft enough to cushion her joints. While she is always stiff, when she gets up after laying on this bed we do notice that she has an easier time getting up than she does with other beds we’ve tried. It’s also big enough for her to sprawl out or allows some space for our other dog to snuggle next to her best friend. Over all, it’s a good bed and is worth trying it.- even if you’re worried your dog will lay next to it. On an additional note, our toddler likes to put pillows and blankets on it and will demand we leave her there with a movie- so worst case scenario, your toddler might like it lol ... show more

This bed is HUGE. I have a pretty big german shepherd, well, technically I have 2, but the other is on the smaller side. Anyways, the bigger one, who is a male, cant curl up like most dogs can. When he lays down, he can only lay with his spine pretty much straight. This leaves me always needing to buy very large dog beds. The problem with that though is not all dog beds that say JUMBO or XXL are up to the size they make them out to be. And when I measure my dog and go with their size charts, somehow the size is never right either. Anyways, when I came across this dog bed, I tried not to get my hopes up, even though I made sure to order as big of a size that I could get and crossed my fingers as the count down began for delivery. When it got here, the box was smaller than I thought, but once opening it, I realized they vacuum sealed it. So I cut the bag, and watched as the air returned to this mammoth of a bed. Where I lived at the time, I had a full/queen size bed. This dog bed took up all of my bed except for where my pillows were. Like I said, its huge. I waited a few hours for the dog bed to refluff up/expand and then I got to work putting all the prices together. The 4 bolster pillows were easy to put and so was the bottom mattress. Its a neat little casing. It has 2 different zipper areas. One for the bottom mattress, and one for the 4 bolster pillows. It unzip all the way around, making it really easy to take on and off whenever you need to wash it, and washing it itself is especially easy since it comes apart like that, making it no larger than a set of sheets in the washer or dryer. Its incredibly soft and supportive for my senior male dog with hip and joint problems as well. Even I have laid on it and taken a nap curled up next to him and awoken with no problems. I got this bed for both my smaller dogs and they love it nice and sturdy love that the cover comes off and just washable. The cover was easy to put on. The bed is nice and soft and it's a nice large bed.

Absolutely beyond disappointed with this bed. I've had this thing less than six months and the internal fabric at the stitching is just shredding itself apart. It started over a month ago during what is only the third time the cover has been washed for this. I have a front load washer, so this isn't a rough wash, and frankly, even with a top load, this kind of textile disintegration is unacceptable. The stitching type for this bed is completely wrong and insufficient. The polyester liner itself is sewn with a single straight stitch, which for a fabric of this kind of threading (not to mention one THIS cheap and weak), that stitch is literally the worst choice you could make. The primary failure area is the entire raised cushion that encircles the bed, so precisely where your dogs head lays and applies some pressure. The fabric itself has such a poor stitch hold because of the single straight one used that of COURSE it's going to tear apart like this. Had they actually been bothered to use a double or triple stitch with angles, this likely would have taken a lot longer because the tension across the fabric would have been much better distributed over a wider surface area, but the fact of the matter is that the manufacturer chose an absolutely garbage quality polyester internal liner that I would be SHOCKED to see survive a full year of use even with the proper stitching. When the first separation happened, I went through and sewed what was a 3 foot long torn seam, and just 4 weeks later when I went to wash the bed again and unzipped it, it was already tearing in two new areas and it's so bad the entire bed practically needs to be sewn together with the exception of the area I sewed back together last month. Furthermore, the manufacturing on this bed is inconsistent because the same size in a second purchase did not even HAVE zippers to remove the cushion liner, so the only way to wash the bed meant sending all for sides of foam stuffed tubing through the washer (since the only thing you could remove was the bottom foam pad itself. Naturally, that means actually spinning and draining the washer if you have a front load is pretty much impossible due to imbalanced weight distribution. I cannot express how shoddy every choice with this bed is in regards to fabric. TLDR: - Extremely low grade fabric. The polyester is about as strong as rice paper. - Some of the worst stitching choices I've ever seen - It will shred apart within 6 months of use (not wild abuse, just your 100 year old dog laying around like an inanimate object) - Inconsistent design. Some beds allow you to remove the foam pillow tube (the one I am writing about does), while another of the exact same size does NOT—so have fun dragging 30lbs of soaked foam outside to hang and drip if you are the lucky winner of the worse version Its too bad because this bed has been great for my dog and helped a lot with his pain, but I am fuming that I dropped this much money TWICE and didn't even get six months out of the first one, while the second can't even have the foam pillow tubing removed when you need to wash the liner. DO NOT waste your money. $100+ for this bed is actual highway robbery and thus manufacturer clearly has ZERO standards. I say this as someone who sews for a living. Save yourself the headache and don't be fooled by early reviews. I'd be shocked if this lasted anyone a full year. I am genuinely pissed it's too late for a refund because this is such a freaking waste of money. ... show more

This dog bed is exactly what I wanted for my Great Dane! It’s plenty big enough for him and more honestly. I really wanted to make sure I got him a dog bed that was comfy and thick, this one delivers on the comfy! He loves it. And my cat does too apparently. lol I would recommend for any animal, it appears to be nice quality, great size. The inside cushion slid right into the outer sleeve so I know it’ll be easy to wash too! ... show more

Bed looks nice and comfy. Easy to assemble. It doesn't really look exactly like the picture (shape wise). The pictured bed looks square, the bed I got is rectangular. The bed is also smaller than what it says on the size description. I bought the X-L bed which is supposedly 41"x28" but when I measured it, I only got almost 39"x27". Definitely smaller than what Im expecting it to be for my large dog. I thought it would be bigger for him but I should've paid more attention on the measurements. I want a bigger bed for him but he seems to like this when he lays on it. He cant really stretch on it cos the bed is not that big.. but I guess it's fine for now. Im only worried about the durability of this bed. I don't even know how many beds we bought for him already but hopefully this one last him for a while because he always chew on anything with cushion on it 😅 ... show more
