I've been using for months now and some things I got from the table: - It took about 3 hours maybe to 4 to assemble even with two people. (maybe we suck but it was a long time to assemble it lol) - the little slide keeps moving so it's not a good table if you're using this table for game with your friends. It just keeps sliding. - The rising center is super nice to use and is safe when it closes. It slowly goes down so it's not dangerous or anything. - Make sure when you move the table around, be cautious with the legs because it can get a bit dent especially if you're trying to move them on the carpet rather than on a hard floor. ... show more

Got the lighter oak table for a great discount price through Amazon. U must be able to read directions and have time, patience and the tools to assemble. It comes all in one not so big box. The sliders and hinges all worked as the are supposed to, the holes for assembly lined up well as well as the wood pattern on table top matched and lines up perfectly. Took about an hour to put together and it wasn't too difficult but the instructions aren't clear on some of the parts and what needs to face in what direction. I would recommend reading ahead to see how parts will line up. However, it looks good and the extra storage is nice.

The only possible complaint I could make is that assembly is long and involved. On the other hand, it has a lift top and a sliding top, and I knew that when I ordered it. So, the fact that it might require some time to put together shouldn't come as a surprise. Also, I did have some trouble putting the screws for the lift-top arms in all the way. You might want to use a Phillips screwdriver electric drill bit instead of the Allen wrench/screwdriver tool that comes included. I like the storage. As someone who owns two cats who are constantly knocking things off tables, I appreciate the fact that I can keep small items in a space they can't access. The item makes a tasteful decoration that has a somewhat rustic quality and not too posh-looking. Also, the table is very strong. I can actually sit on it. I really love this item. With its storage capacity, simple design and overall sturdiness, I don't think I could have made a better choice for my home. ... show more

I rather like this coffee table a lot. It was rather easy to build with some decent instructions. The instructions did confuse me a bit on a few steps culminating in my mistake of placing the sliding storage part of the table in the wrong direction. It didn’t take me longer than an hour & a half for the entire assembly. The table is strudy enough to last for a few good years, if it’s taken care of and not carelessly pushed around or constantly exceeding it’s weight capacity. However, I don’t see it lasting for decades, not that I’d need it to. I adore the storage space that the table provides, freeing up space in my room and de-cluttering a bit. I really love the feature of the desk part of this table. It’s rather helpful when doing homework or projects on my laptop. I do recommend this product to anyone in the market for a coffee table with some ample storage space and good utilization of its usefulness. ... show more

Assembly was pretty difficult for me. I made a mistake in the beginning of the process which was awful as I had to disassemble everything too. I will admit the lifting function is not as smooth as I'd like too. However, it looks nice, and it is a great deal for the price.
