  • Durable, sturdy, versatile
Color: 22.5 Inch Black Size: 22.5 inch
I have taken this backpack on two international trips, one of which involved lots of moving/repeated packing. The bag holds up well, and I love the versatility. It looks great as a duffel bag or backpack, and it's easy to convert. The "leather," although man-made, is a good, sturdy material and so far it as held up very well. The canvas material is nice and heavy. It looks great, although I will say the "black" color is closer to charcoal grey--which I think actually pairs better with the cognac colored "leather." The bag is very comfortable when worn as a backpack. Although I'm sure it's not as comfy as a traditional "backpacker" pack, it's not really large enough to overdo it with weight anyway, and the waist/load bearing strap helps to distribute the weight more easily. All the various straps pack away easily, which is also nice when you're on the move. The small pockets on the front of the bag are really great for extra storage, and the rounded shape means that they add more space even when the bag itself is packed to the gills. The zippers are sturdy, and I've had no issues with the teeth bending or tabs coming off, which is something I had feared with such an inexpensive product. The laptop pocket inside is also a plus. In sum is a great bag at a fantastic value, and I don't have any critiques. Moreover, in contradiction to the product label I can attest to the fact that it is, in fact, gender neutral and looks quite fetching on a lady. ;) ... show more

  • Excellent bag for the very mobile traveler
Color: 22.5 Inch Brown Size: 22.5 inch
I ordered this bag for a specific trip to northern Italy, it was exactly what I was looking for at the time... Maximum bag size for overhead carry on, and backpack form where the straps could be hidden away. This bag met those requirements, and looked pretty good in the ad. Upon receiving it I seemed pretty durable, it has three compartments, the main one, the front flap, and the little pouch. These compartments worked out pretty well for what I needed, main for clothes, front for travel docs and larger electronics, and the little pouch for small stuff like phone chargers and cables. Additionally, there is an internal padded separator in the main which is intended for a laptop, but I didn’t bring one, so I just used it as a space for clothing, later for separating clean from soiled clothes. I was easily able to pack for 6 days in this bag and could have jammed in more. Our trip was multiple flights, multiple cities separated by various train rides, I really liked being able to sip away the backpack straps for jamming it into overhead compartments, so they wouldn’t get tangled up in stuff. Overall the bag worked out great, I am going to make this my #1 go-to bag for trips of less than a week. On the down side, three items worth noting; (1) Access to the main compartment is through a single slit opening along one side, so the bag cannot be flapped open like a clamshell. This did not bother me too much, you just need to slip stacks of stuff into it in an orderly fashion. (2) the front flap could use a few more separations, without which everything slides to the bottom (when using the backpack straps) making them difficult to dig out and piling up behind the small pouch making that space smaller. (3) Because its a significantly larger soft pack, it conforms to your back and that gets pretty hot in any warmer environment, this obviously a small price to pay given the goal was to maximize packing space in a carry-on allowable size. The resolution would be to have a frame pack, which was antithetical to my goals; soft, max space for carry on. Following that first trip I can confirm the durability of the bag, its held up great, the heavy duty canvas, leather design, and large/heavy zippers are built to last. As a final note, on my last flight home, on a smaller regional jet, the airline identified and made everyone with a rigid or semi-rigid wheeled carry-on check them due to the limited overhead bin sizes. I sailed right past that and easily smashed this bag into the undersized overhead compartment. WIN ... show more

  • Hands down one of the best travel bags ever
Color: 22.5 Inch Black Size: 22.5 inch
I’ve had this bag over 6 years, and have taken it to over 20 countries with me, and it’s still holding up! -I decided to make a review today because I figured I’ve put it through the wringer over the years and wanted to share my experience. -It fits basically anything you need, when traveling with basics for 3-5 days. The main space inside is excellent. It can even hold a 30 pack of beer! (I used the back-pack straps while on my motorcycle, and even in the rain it dries out) The material is okay with water, but I wouldn’t recommend getting it soaked… -The only issue I’ve EVER had is the carrying handle ripped a small amount when I tried to over pack it. -Overall it’s very rugged and durable, even when overpacking it. The zippers are heavy duty and can withstand abuse and stretching when trying to close the zipper. —I would recommend ANYONE to buy it once, and never buy another carry on again… unless you buy it as a gift :) Make sure you get the correct size for your body and carrying capacity, because it does have some adjustable straps for your waist when carrying heavy loads and of course you want it to be comfortable at your hips ... show more
