  • worked great!
Edit: After writing a scathing review on the Withings website, someone reached out to me, and told me they would replace my scale. The new one arrived in 2 days, and I updated both my Withings review, and this one, as I promised I would. The scale quit working after 10 months. There is zero customer support available. The phone number listed has been disconnected. It took 3 days to get an answer on the “Chat”. It was determined there is a fatal error, and it needs to be replaced. Withings informed me Amazon would replace the scale. They will not. It is past its 30 day return date, but within the 2 year warranty Withings offers. So now I have a scale that is stuck in a loop trying to restart every 30 seconds. It’s been doing this for 3 days and nights. I am not happy, this was not a cheap scale. DO NOT BUY IT. ... show more

  • Not for everyone
Color: White Size: 36mm
Believe the other five star reviews. All I have to add is that it is pointless to have this scale if all one cares about is why clothes aren't fitting like they used to. Do not get this if you are the type who gets a new gym membership on January 2 and a month later you forgot where the gym is. What the scale is good for, or at least how I rationalized the purchase, is it that it complements a geek's approach to health and fitness. That is, we all know that improving one's health is fairly simple: eat better, get more sleep, drop the carbs, add ninety minutes or more of vigorous activity a week and stay out of the taverns. You don't need this scale or even any scale if all that is of interest is generally better health and clothes fit. Now for those who enjoy body hacking or What Ifs? This scale is awesome. Lets say that you adopt a regime of regular fasting and daily walks. This will burn fat and likely trash your muscles and that result will be reflected in the body composition readings. Dropping carbs? H2O numbers change. Overworking your exercise, your heart patterns will change (though for Reasons, you only get afib notifications but the ECG/EKG graphs are telling if you know how to read them and good at discerning artifacts) Want to know how that fad exercise/diet is working out for you? Now you have personal anecdata to support or refute whatever claims were made. Just took up running, swimming or boxing? See how these new activities integrate with your body shaping. Are the numbers valid? Who knows and how would a consumer know unless they had access to medical grade and certified analogs. I don't think it matters unless your numbers somehow work themselves into conversations, but trends, which this scale and app can provide will give fairly decent feedback to whatever diet/exercise plan you are following. The downside, and it is fairly understandable why, is that this scale does not play well with the Garmin Universe. Garmin has the best tracking watch - the Fenix line, this is indisputable. What Garmin doesn't have is the best peripherals. I was seriously considering upgrading from an ancient Withings smart scale to the Garmin offering because of the integration, but I wanted more toyz and having more dollars than sense opted for this prosumer scale. Thankfully MyFitnessPal is the intermediary between these two health and fitness gadget Goliaths. Because of the robust data collection that Withings is doing, and the plethora of data scientists itching to leverage AI or something to generate marketable data, I can't help but think that broader acceptance of this device would lead to things that Garmin has been doing with their data partners and that is to invent scoring mechanism based on some combination of metrics collected from this scale and integrations from other peripherals (BP and Oxy sensors) along with dietary habits from collaborations with various diet tracking apps. I look forward to what Withings comes up with in the future and I can only encourage them to work with their market competitors and intermediaries so that they can make some Withings brand Health numbers so that metrics based body hackers can game. We are odd ducks, but quite frankly its us who buy these wildly unnecessary devices. ... show more

  • Huge Waste of Money
I have been a Withings scale user for more than 10 years, and other than the Nokia period, I’ve been a big fan. A 1-star review from a longtime brand user should tell you something important. I broke my Body Smart scale and decided to upgrade. I’ve been diligently losing weight and I wanted to target and track building muscle in my legs. When the scale was delivered, I was immediately shocked at the weight. This thing is HEAVY. That may not matter to you if you keep it setup in a stationary location, but due to my bathroom setup, I have to move it every morning. Despite the weight, I was still excited to try it. Setup is cumbersome and there is very little info or support. The first EKG needs to be sent to a third party for review before that feature will work. It’s not a long process (mine cleared in about 2 hours, but the tell you it can take up to 24 hours), but I think it took about 6 attempts before I got a reading that could be reviewed. Most of my readings come back inconclusive. Even as of day 2, I only get inconclusive readings. There could be 2 issues for me: if heart rate is over 100 without AFiB, it fails; I also see that if it detects a bundle branch block it will fail. I have a known right bundle branch block, so maybe the failures make sense, but then I question the few “regular sinus rhythm” readings. Weight, fat, muscle, and visceral fat readings were inconsistent. Every time I stepped on the scale (and I did it a LOT last night when the scale arrived) I had a different reading. Weight fluctuated 8 lbs over 10 readings a span of less than 30 minutes. Even the closest readings on this to those of my Body Smart scale were way off. The scale has decided I am gaining fat and losing muscle (that’s completely wrong) and the app is now showing my BMI as stable, despite having lost 40 lbs in 3 months. As if this scale wasn’t bad enough, I made a monumental effort in trying to get the segmented body comp readings to work. First, your arms and legs cannot touch each other or your torso. This, unless you have a huge thigh gap, you must wear “light clothing.” That suggestion didn’t work. Your feet have to be dry to use the scale, but the app suggested my rabidly comp readings were failing because my feet were dry — that you’re supposed to use the scale right out of the shower. So I did that, too, to no avail. You can’t tell from the scale whether your body comp was successful. It only gives you readings on the display for % fat, % muscle, and visceral fat — the segmented readings are only available through the app, and if they fail, you Geno’s know until you go into the app. Even worse, the app doesn’t tell you most of the time — the readings just aren’t there. Amazon’s return policy is a bit infuriating. Because I opened the scale, my refund will take 30 days after receipt of the product, plus 7 days for bank processing. 37 days for a refund on a $400 brick is unacceptable. And get this — these Black Friday deals? They’re ripping us off!! I fell for it and that’s why I upgraded. I now realize that they raised the prices, are giving a Black Friday discount, but the actual prices are higher than normal. For example, I bought a brand new Body Smart on Amazon for $79.99 in April 2025. The BF deal on the same scale is $109.99! And Amazon’s “price history” tool doesn’t go back far enough to see the true history. But I’ve got receipts!! Seriously…don’t waste your money on this. I am probably going to replace my shattered Body Smart, but I’m so upset with this purchase, I am considering brands other than Withings before I make the purchase. ... show more

  • Start your new year off with a GREAT Scale!
My overall rating is 5 Star based on: (5) Easy to use (5) Set up with app (5) Unit appearance and display (5) Accuracy in reading/consistency (4) Price point and still pending on cardio vascular age reading since it does require 5 days of measurement to give you a reading and I'm posting this review after 3 days of use. I am in the fitness industry and the value to me is in the body fat reading and overall consistency in readings. I had a competitor scale (Weight Gurus) which served me well over the years and was fairly good in it's consistency of readings. As a first impression, it's very well packed and after removing it from the box I noticed that it is a bit heavier than my previous scale so the product appears pretty sturdy and well built. The charging cable included to charge the scale is 6 feet long and USB so I was able to charge it on the floor next to my other USB items. AFTER charging the scale overnight it gave me a full battery life reading in the digital display in the morning. I can't review battery life until I actually have to recharge the scale but from what I read it can be up to year depending on use and I will use it once per day. I downloaded the app to my iPhone 12 and briefly skimmed over the paper instructions on pairing the items. I placed the scale on the counter next to me. Turned the scale on (hold the little button on the side for 3 seconds) and immediately the app kicked in and started the pairing process which was painless. Once paired, I placed the scale in the same spot as my previous scale which is a solid wood, level surface (not rug or over a bathroom mat). Best time for consistent readings is first thing AM but if you can't make that happen, then at least try to make it the same time every day so the readings won't fluctuate wildly based on your daily intake and caloric output. For this review, I actually compared readings side by side with my previous scale and noticed no real discrepancy at all. Readings were very close. The digital display is BIG and easy to read so if you are over 40 you will be happy that you don't need to wear your glasses to see the display as it scrolls through your overall weight, body fat, muscle weight, water, and bone. It even gave me the weather conditions outside since it's connected to wifi. You can change the option/s that are displayed but I was good with that since I start my mornings at 5am and I always check the weather conditions before going outside so I know what training gear is required. Once it completed it's overall body scan, it uploads your stats onto the app which you can then read through and compare on a daily or weekly basis. At least as far as apple products, results of your scale are posted onto the Apple Health app which is great since I use MyFitnessPal and I also have an Alexa Amazon T-Rex watch which also uploads to the Apple Health App so I can look over everything in one place when I want to review the week. I did notice that I had to reload my app page once when the information wasn't immediately synced but that's not an issue at all. Overall, and my only rating under 5 is because it is a bit pricey compared to my previous scale but a great addition to your fitness items for 2023! ... show more

  • Incredibly helpful to keep yourself accountable & track your weight/health Incredibly helpful to keep yourself accountable & track your weight/health
I was hesitant to get a Withings smart scale because of some poor reviews. I am realizing these reviews must have been written within the two years Nokia owned the company (2016-2018), before the original owner took over again, because I really think this scale is great! I am writing a review to help those who are on the fence as I was and scared by the bad reviews. My background and why I decided to get this scale: I gained a lot of weight during the pandemics - for the first time in 10 years. I used to have a BMI of 18-22 and it jumped to almost 27! (see attached pic, where Withings picked up my previous years’ weight from Apple’s Health App) I freaked out, tried to track my weight, but my old IKEA cheap scale was not helping me understand my trends and how to lose the weight. Relying on doctor’s visits to weight was also not cutting it. I am very techy 👩🏻💻, an Apple fan, and realized it was time to invest in a smart Wi-Fi scale that would help me understand my trends, and how to eat correctly to get back in shape. I tried both the Body+ and the Cardio scales, each for about a week. Both are great. As I don’t intend to ever wear a watch that keeps track of heart rates, I decided to keep the Cardio scale for added health value. In the first week of use it showed I wasn’t losing any weight despite trying to eat correctly, which made me decide to track calories with an app that works with Withings scales - MyFitnessPal. Using the two in conjunction, it becomes a matter of math - how much you put in really determines how much weight you lose. If you’re doing any kind of exercise, you can also input it in the apps and it helps predict the timeline of your weight loss. There’s no big mystery involved, it’s basic math that the scale does in conjunction with the apps. With the info in hand, in the last few weeks I finally started losing weight! (about 3.2kg = 7 lbs) and I can claim both Withings scales were crucial in helping me achieve that. People say you have to pay for the MyFitnessPal app but tou don’t have to, only if you want to unlock added features. The basic tracking of 1200 calories a day is there and it works well enough, and it already has the calorie count for most produce and processed foods (which of course you should try to avoid). I am slowly learning which way of eating works for my body these days. Gotta love technology! Every person should have a smart scale, even if you didn’t gain weight. It’s important to know your health trends to be able to keep accountable and realize if there are times you start to gain weight so you’re able to stop the process. Health Mate, the app that records your progress for Withings scales, can link to with Apple Health app, which also links to my medical MyChart account where my doctors track pressure and whatnot, so the scale also shows items like that and calculates your body fat, BMI, vascular health & age, daily steps. It shows the morning and afternoon temperature so you can’t figure out what to wear for that day. The scale app also provides friendly health related feedback when you’re not walking or exercising enough and suggests things you can do to improve and tells you the science behind it. That’s a really cool feature. I won’t say it’s perfect as I feel software could be updated and have more interactive features as well as more settings so the display in the app was exactly the way I wanted. I am also not a huge fan of the design with the stripes, I work with design and am picky. But I understand that technologically that’s what needed to be done to provide your cardio stats. But - I feel this is the best brand of smart scales in the market, perhaps competing only with Qardio brand. I am also a tad confused by the numbers as I know my heart rate is always 100 at the doctor’s office and the first 5 days mine showed at 130+. Perhaps I was jumping on the scale when I was a little anxious as today it marked 66. I got it on Amazon Day and had a nice discount too. In any case, this scale will last for years and is way cheaper than a sole doctors consultation fee. I feel it’s an investment in your health and worth every penny. Not to mention I am now on my way to having a healthy BMI again and fitting in my clothes. Without this scale, I’d have to buy a whole new post pandemic wardrobe as nothing I have fits me. Do your health a favor and get this scale ASAP. • Follow up Jan. 2023: The company has excellent customer service, I lost the charging cable, didn’t know exactly what to buy and contacted the company. They sent me a new cable, no charges, no questions asked. So cool. As you can see in the (updated) picture, this scale helped me focus, understand my body and I managed to lose the 25 lbs I gained during pandemics. Need to lose 10 more pounds to get to my former weight but I’ll get there. Most of all, scale shows me if I gain even 1/2 or 1 lbs and I can course correct before things get worse. I weight every morning when I wake up and it aids in never letting myself get where I did during pandemics again. Functions as an “alert”. I’m extremely happy with this device! Worth every penny invested! They are also improving their Healthmate app lately. New features were added over new year which are quite cool including weekly / monthly / yearly trends, educative programs, alerts to drink tea, etc Thank you Withings! ... show more

  • All 1 star reviews I read should be deleted
I'll do both helpful advice and discredit the bad reviews with real data. First left answer the common question about BMI accuracy, listen... no scale can do that perfectly but the results here are consistent. So go get an accurate reading to serve as your benchmark then you can use this scale and all the little adjustments will be accurate. Think of it like.... the time on your phone is 4:01 pm but time on your oven is 4:03 pm. Yeah, the oven may be off but it'll always be off the same amount. You always know your oven is 2 min ahead and you'll always be able to know the differential of this scale once you have seen it. It's really really great. Before we get to more positives, what really hurt me in this buying process was the negative reviews. Wow, I am so disappointed in myself for having factored in the collection of worthless 1 star reviews. I may have purchased a different scale had I listened to any combination of them. I'm so happy I purchased this great scale and anyone reading this please trust this is a fantastic scale. Let's start with explaining why some users have had bad experiences. Trust they have no idea but once you buy this scale it'll become apparent that they have no idea. For instance, some clearly were having wifi issues which speaks only to their wifi connection. Others who didnt see accuracy in weight reading likely has to do with the scale being placed on a floor that when it is impacted by his weight the floor will bend causing impossible results for any weight scale. OR they are doing it on a rug. You have to understand the scale cant rest on a floor that will cushion down under pressure. You put this on a mat for instance the softness of the cushion will confuse the scale that you weigh less than you do. The same is true for spots on a hard wood floor that give in under pressure. The solution is to put it on stable floor Then there are people who DID NOT CHARGE the scale before using. Listen, the scale will come dead. You need to charge it. There are actually multiple people completely unaware they have to plug in the scale just like you plug in a phone. Then there are people who falsely believe you require a specific pay for app or dont even know how to use the app you can CHOOSE to download. I say choose because you dont need the app but WOW is it great. The only confusing part might be the incorrect app. The app you are going to download is called "Health Mate" which they renamed but their instructions were not updated with the new name. Just find the correct app I am mentioning and youll be fine. When you step on this scale it instantly starts analyzing you. You dont need to tap it. Heck you dont even need to look at it. Just stand there and let it do its thing then check your app instead of bothering with the scale. Because the app is incredibly helpful. ... show more

  • Best fitness/wellness scale system for the iPhone Ecosystem
For all of you out there looking for a weight and wellness tracking system that runs off of your iPhone via a wellness app you have finally found your five-star solution. After renewing my weight loss and wellness journey I purchased this scale along with the companion blood pressure cuff that both work wirelessly via the manufacturer's iPhone app that also imports your shared data from the Apple health app with your permission. Simply take the time to unpack the device(s) and charge it to full capacity as indicated in the directions before you set it up. Once the device is fully charged you can begin the setup process which works through the iPhone app that you should have installed previously. The directions are straightforward and well written. Basically you put your scale on your wireless Internet at home and the device begins reporting the statistics it acquires through the application on your phone. One caveat, be sure to get on the scale in your bare feet so the other functions can be utilized on the scale. If you just want to double check your weight during the day you can do so in socks or shoes and it will not send the data to the application in your iPhone if you get on and get off after weight is displayed. As I mentioned I also purchased the blood pressure cuff from the same manufacturer and for me it provides a total package of physical monitoring and loading of the data into an easy to read format. It also provides incentive with the data right there in front of you to continue forward in your weight loss program. The system is a little pricey but it also works extremely well and is great for tracking your day-to-day fitness goals and monitor assorted statistics. Bottom line I like the scale system so much that I bought one for a friend to utilize in their physical fitness monitoring program. This is the same system that the Apple.com site sells as a official Apple sponsored product. The pricing on Amazon was better than the [email protected]. The best combination scale blood pressure and physical fitness recording and monitoring system I have run across. Simple set up, ease-of-use, and accuracy are excellent. The manufacturers website also provides plenty of videos to watch so you can get familiar with the assorted processes and setups that may be required. Excellent products, would give them SIX Stars......!! ... show more
