I bout this wise owl wall mounting kit because I sleep in a hammock every night. My eno wall mount is fine but wanted to try something cheaper. I been sleeping in my hammock for almost 5 years now. But this wall mount has seen almost 3 months of nightly sleep 8-12 hours and no problem yet! My eno set I did break a bolt. If your 200+ I’d say go to a hardware store. Take the original bolt with you and ask them for a grade 8 bolt same size. That will hold you without fear of breaking. I will update if any issue with this set happens. So far.     • Good hammock hanging set
Hammock hanging sets are pretty basic... I hung one of these last night and it worked good... I already have another set and while I probably can't mention the brand name I'll say it is a more recognizable brand that charged more and it looked and felt identical. You need to hit a stud.. obviously... and that is the only hard part about using these. Wise Owl also makes great 12kn carabiners (good weight range for hammocking, super light weight) which is why I was willing to give them a shot on the hammock hanging set... I have several of those carabiners and love them. They are also so light weight I use them for other tasks that you would usually use a cheap carabiner for because you never know when you might need one that can lift your own weight. (almost 3,000 lbs of force) you can't use them for climbing because they are wire gate.. but great for hanging bear bags.. or to have accessible with spare rope for an emergency or to replace a lost one on your hammock kit... or to hang your ice spikes for your boots in a more accessible location on the outside of your pack. Spare carabiners that are weight rated are just far more useful than cheap aluminium $0.99 junk. ... show more

The quality if the parts are great... but realize that if you bolt it on a tree that the tree will grow around it. The attached photos are from two years of growth, the result has been it's now hard to get the hooks in/out of the mounts, the bolts are no longer removable in some places (we purchased two sets), two of the trees bled. The last photo shows what it looks like when one was removed. These mounts are great on lumber or something that is dead and won't be growing... but realize that if you have a tree, using these isn't a good option in the long term and can very easily injure the tree. ... show more
