This is a nice little set of TWO microphones, not just one. And they both CAN work together simultaneously, OR alternately. So that's perfect for doing a video interview (with two people): just plug the receiver into the iPhone's Lightning jack, and then clip the two microphones on the two people talking, preferably just below their chin. Or if it's just for one person talking, you can talk for literally hours, and then seamlessly swap the mics to the other one, while replacing the first one back in the case for immediate charging. Theoretically you could keep doing this A-B swapping-and-recharging for an even longer recording session. Sound quality is excellent. No handling noise in the "noise cancelling" mode. I also tried the non-noise-canceling mode, which seemed to add a bit more bass, but overall more reverberation and noise in the output. So for use in a quiet studio, I would probably turn off noise canceling, but for normal conference calls, it's probably better to eliminate noise, thereby improving intelligibility. The button and switch functions are simple and effective. On the transmitters (microphones), there is only a power switch and a button. You shouldn't really need the power switch, since taking the unit out of the charging case automatically turns on the power, but it would come in handy if you didn't have the case, or you were trying to save battery power over long periods without putting the mics back in the case. The microphone button simply toggles the noise cancellation function with a single-press. Double-press to mute/unmute the mic (light will flash), and long-press to toggle "reverb mode". Reverb mode is for musicians, to add some artificial echo usually suitable for music, but usually not desirable for intelligibility of speech. So good that it's off by default, and if you want to launch into music playing or singing, you would just long-press the button (light will flash once). All-in-all a great value and great quality.

These microphones work exceptionally well and are super easy to set up. They do not require you to pair them to your iPhone’s Bluetooth, because that is what the dongle is for that plugs into the lightning port. Also remember that there are two microphones that work independently of each other. What that allows you to do is to have two sources of sound that both will feed into the iPhone. This is very handy if you have two people that are going to be presenting at a meeting for example. That way they would each have their own microphone. Set up was surprisingly simple — all I did was to plug the dongle into the phone and removed the microphones from the case. They automatically connected and I was ready to go. I used the voice recorder app in iOS to test them out and they did a very good job. Even better than the built-in microphone on the phone itself. If you are looking for a very affordable set of microphones that work seamlessly with your iPhone to make audio recordings then these are what you want. The form factor is also very nice. The dongle and the two microphones fit inside its case which charges the microphones. The digital readout on the case lets you know that status of the charge. Another feature that I am glad they thought of was that the dongle allows for pass-through charging. In this way you can simultaneously use the dongle and charge your phone at the same time. That way you don’t have to worry about your phone’s battery running low at an inopportune time. Lastly, and this may seem like a small thing, but it’s nice that they chose to make the charging cord for the case itself a USB-C type connector and not a proprietary connector or something else. That is nice because I think that iPhones are eventually going to go the way of the iPads and have USB-C ports. I certainly hope so, so I can stop carrying around more than one type of cord whenever I travel.

For those who want to record videos on an iPhone or iPad but don’t want to rely on the built-in microphone (which won’t always pick up sounds from a distance) or use a headphones/mic combo (which doesn’t look great), this is a great solution. And given that there are two mics, I can see this also being useful for someone who might need to record one-on-one interviews on the fly. The receiver plugs into the lightning port on your iOS device, and the microphone attaches to your shirt with a clip. The receiver and two mics charge together in a sturdy case that holds a charge of its own (like most wireless earbud cases do), and everything works instantly out of the box. Sound quality is pretty good — not like a professional mic of course, but definitely better than what you would get from what’s integrated with most Bluetooth earbuds. For the price, these should be a no-brainer for anyone who might need a basic travel-friendly mic solution.
