I bought it with the sole purpose of viewing the trichomes on my plants and it does well at that. You can zoom enough to see if they are cloudy or not. The coolest thing happened however - We liked it so much we started looking at other things like my kids slime (to show her we were not kidding how gross it actually is lol) and hair and microchips. It was really cool to see that part of the world seeing as it has been a while since we were in a science class. AtI 30$ and it severs the purpose so I am very happy with it. I saw no difference in picture quality using the PC cable or the app on my tablet over Wi-Fi, so i’m not sure what the reviews on here mean about that difference. I saw none. You can see in the uploaded pictures the picture quality using the highest focus (not the zoom buttons, but the zoom wheel. The zoom buttons are dumb and I do not use them ). It is not like the Hubble telescope good, but it is perfect for what I needed. Also that blue background is a notebook and it made the experience better by seeing all the DPI paint dots the manufacturer used to make the color on of the cover of the notebook. Gave it a good vibe anyway. All in all it is great IF your purpose is like mine - A good view but not medical grade view. ... show more

I've used it quite a bit in the last month and I have only charged it once when I first received it, the battery life is great. I use it wirelessly via wifi with the Max-see app and the setup was very simple. I originally bought this for circuit boards to to clean out the cpu and ram sockets on some very old pcs, it did the job very well. If you get the zoom right the quality is great. I also found use for it checking spore prints, and recently found another use for it to check the authenticity of my pokemon card collection. In the pictures you can see the very thin ~.01mm black layer on the .3mm cards, and the camera isn't even zoomed in anywhere close to the max... For this price I am extremely happy with the product. ... show more

This was specifically purchased to take closeup photos of my plants to look for pests and disease. I had used another product similar that attached to my phone, as well as a jewelers loupe, but none compare to the zooming power and image quality this has. I was able to confidentially diagnose plants with pests I had a suspicion of, but couldn’t find using other devices. I’m sure it works for many other purposes, but I cannot recommend this enough for checking plants. You set up and connect to the microscope's connection over wi'fi, then go back to your own connection when you're done. The microscope doesn't work without its own connection. I followed the set up instructions and it wouldn't connect. I'm an ok techy person, repeated everything more than once, and tried everything I could think of to solve the issue. Well, even if I had gotten it to work, the whole process is just way too confusing and complicated! Returned. Update 11/26/22 First, I want to thank the seller for contacting me, without any mention of changing my first review, and offering a replacement. I wanted to give it another try so got the replacement and followed the instructions and it worked. OK, here's where I went wrong the first time: when it got to the part in the app that told me there was no internet, my techy self got side-tracked into trying to fix the internet connection. SO, you've got to ignore that and proceed, like it says in the directions. For what it is and what I need it for (hoya bug inspections) it's a good solid piece of equipment. I took off one star because I spent so much time getting confused about the internet and then having to go through the return process. But I'll have to say, the directions were right all along. ... show more

I love this helpful little magnifier. I had a splinter like feeling in the palm of my hand that hurt when barely anything rubbed against it. I grabbed my little magnifier and found it to be a wire fiber lodged in my skin. Image 1. I took duct tape and pressed it for not my palm to pull the fiber out. Which it did. Image two. I have used it with Linux and Raspberry Pi that I have on my workbench, the picture quality is excellent and assume quality is outstanding for the price of this microscope. I use this working with small electrical components, actually very tiny components. I had purchased a microscope that looks the same as this about two years ago, and after using this one at the old one in the junk box because the quality here is very good. I use this microscope in my flooring inspection business. It’s great in lots of different ways. It easily hooks up to my laptop if I want to demonstrate an issue with a home owner or that I’m working with or, it easily connects to my phone via WiFi so I can easily capture photos of spots that I’m working with on site. The photo above is a comparison of a paper clip against an engineering ruler where the measurements are in 1/32” increments. This product has a range of 50x to 1000x and I tend to use the lower magnification range more but regardless this is very stable, easy to focus and has ample light to work with. ... show more

I don't think the magnification power is as high as the listing says it is, however the pictures are clear and it's easy to connect the device to your phone. You will need the app to do so, and you have to switch wifi connections to the microscope, bit it works well with almost no latency in the feed. Orienting the microscope to move it in a way that doesn't disorient you is tricky. The best way is to make sure the microscope is "right side up" which means looking at the USB port and making sure that word USB is not upside down. The zoom feature is nice. The focus dial could be easier to turn, since you'll likely be using 1 hand to do it. It can get awkward when you're trying to hold the specimen still with one hand, and focus with the other. It takes some getting used to, but overall I love this thing, I really love the stuff you can see with this. ... show more
