We searched and searched for clips like this that said appropriate for 6-gauge wire. We are attaching welded wire as infill for a stair railing. It is true that the opening is big enough to go around the 6-gauge wire, but the clips are so flimsy that they don't seem appropriate for an application requiring 6-gauge wire. Disappointing!

Clips are a little thin and screw heads are small, which leads to deformation during install with any force. I opted to buy screws with a larger diameter head and they pair well with the clips.

Livestock fence clips they say. Perhaps….But let’s discuss. The screws included are tiny and short. They are not user friendly or quick to use. You definitely won’t be adding these while wearing gloves. The clips appear fine so I swapped out longer screws to give them a shot. If you have used other fence post screws, these are not going to be satisfactory. If you’re actually pulling a wire fence, they don’t have enough strength and that’s with 1 1/2 and 2 inch screws. I think you could use it with something like chicken wire. But I really wouldn’t trust this product to protect a chicken. So then for me that rules out animals. You’re left with putting chicken wire up around a garden to protect plants from rabbits. This just isn’t a true farm fence product and is more for a light duty project. They work and are easy enough to use but not for livestock.

These fence Clips are great and we use them a lot on the ranch. The problem is the screws. They're so dang small! We use a different screw with these fence Clips. A bigger screw that holds better. If these came with better screws, it would have gotten five (5) stars ⭐ instead of four (4). Like I said though, the clips are great! If ya gotta run a lot of fencing, this is a good deal on this little bundle of them. These not only work on fence posts but on trees too. Ya can't go wrong with these clips.
