  • Perfect for fine details like whiskers
Size: #000 Style: Series 233
The University series has wonderful snap and these brushes really hold their shape well. I love them for watercolor and fluid acrylics. The 000 is fantastic for fine details. You will have to reload the brush frequently because, obviously, it won't hold very much color at once. Really does the job when you want precision. ... show more

  • its very nice but it came broken. packaged uner a set of weights but the paintbrush is good
Size: #000 Style: Series 233
it came in the mail broken so i had to duck tape it together I think this may be the who ever packaged everything ups fault. you dont take a painbrush and just toss it in with a bunch of other stuff...I had a set of weights in with it and they piled it on top of my paintbrush :( but as long as they package it rite it would have been a great paintbrush. i still use it because i needed it asap and it doesn't stay thing it does get pretty fat when its wet. but i hVE TO CONSTANTLY LICK THE TIP OF THE BRUSH TO GET IT THIN AGAIN. (oops sorry caps lock) ... show more

  • what a high price!
Size: #1 Style: Series 233
$7 for ONE brush? no thanks i can get it for a lot cheeper. these are great brushes tho. i paint in alkyd/oils and can work with paint straight from the tube with these brushes. they are mostly Indestructible. i often back stroke and scrub and they even hold up to that. they are actually student grade brushes, but lots of professionals use them .they used to be very affordable (i buy in bulk). guess things change. ... show more

  • Winsor & Newton Round 8 is your essential watercolor instrument.
Size: #8 Style: Series 233
Watercolor artists will not find a more suitable tool for watercolor artwork than Winsor & Newton's size 8 round, short or long handle. The round 8 meets the qualifications to accomplish most watercolor techniques. Unlike sable reds - tacklon synthetic whites hold more color from water well to pallet to paper - and you can see the color on the white brush that will apply to your paper. This particular instrument is what most American universities order by the gross and is provided to art students. Push paint! ... show more

  • Do not buy online. Came frayed.
Size: #00 Style: Series 233
For the price of this brush, they should be more careful packaging. I excitedly took it out today to do some very fine detail work (ordered size 00) only to realize it is frayed and some bristles are standing out at an odd angle and dragging on the work. I have a deadline and do not have time to figure out an exchange. Very disappointed. Did not expect this from this caliber of product. Update few weeks later: brush is terrible. It suddenly forks in the middle of painting creating two lines instead of one. Definitely need to buy in person to ensure quality, unfortunately not an option during this time. ... show more

  • Great brush. What's with the shipping?
Size: #2 Style: Series 236
I actually bought two of these brushes. A #8 and a #4. They are great brushes. I use them a lot. I do have perspective on what makes a good brush, I also use series 7 Finest Sable brushes amongst other fine brands as well. I know my brushes so take heed when I tell you again these are great brushes. This is where the "but" starts however. I hope the seller is reading this. Please use brush protectors when shipping brushes. The two that were sent to me were literally thrown (tip first) into a soft pack bubble envelope. Nothing wrapped around the brush hairs at all. One of them is now hooked to the side and completely misshapen. The other one as well was shipped in a separate bubble envelope (tip first)... no protection on the brush. This brush is also now useless to me as it is frayed. I love these brushes in general but sending them to me like this is ridiculous and the shipper knows better. What a waste. I have reordered the brushes after returning the two damaged brushes mentioned. If they arrive like that again the 2 stars I'm leaving will remain. The brushes are 5 stars but the overall experience in receiving them so far is worthy of only 2 stars. Sad really. Do better, shipper! ... show more

  • Shorter Bristle Than My Original University #8 Brush
Size: #8 Style: Series 237
I bought my original #8 University brush decades ago at an art supply house. It has served me well. After all these years, still a great brush, though it is now slightly blue-tinged from using some acrylic house paint. Still, a wonderful brush. Very British. Handle is beautiful and smooth, with an excellent paint job. The metal ferrule is precise. The bristle is strong, uniform and durable in a variety of media. No stray hairs. I like it so much I wanted another. This brush, though it has the same nomenclature, has shorter bristles by about 1/4". Still okay, but stiffer than my original. Certainly not cheap. But clean them after use and they'll last almost forever. ... show more
