  • Good, but muddy
Great PU but more muddy/dull sounding opposed to Fender MIM PU's

  • Expectations too high?
I have installed these on numerous basses - maybe it’s my imagination but these don’t seem to thump like the old basslines version. Overall nice replacement easy to install - would have been even better to give a thicker piece of backing foam.

  • amazing sound!
Seymour Duncan's have always been the best pickups!!!! They fit perfect in my short scale Fender Bass!!!! They also fit perfect in a micro Ibanez bass as well. Best purchase ever!!!

  • It’s everything that was promised
The Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound p-bass pickups do not disappoint. After I installed them, I plugged in and started playing... and then turned down the amplifier because I just about knocked myself out of the room. Whether you pluck or pick, these things pack a punch! Deep lows, nice mids, and enough in the highs to hit you in the back of the head. If you’ve ever dreamed of cutting through the mix in way that everyone asks you to tone it down so they can hear the drums, then this pickup is for you. Be aware that this is not a “vintage” pickup. If you’re looking for that, try the Fender Custom’62. That will give you the vintage boom you’re looking for. If you want to the next level of modern bass tones that are loud and dominant, the Quarter Pound is a great way to go. And the best part is the price - it’s extremely reasonable in comparison to similar offerings and the value is exactly what you should expect from Seymour Duncan. ... show more

  • Great pickup but...
I wanted to like these pickups but they are much to dark for my application. Can't please everyone 😂.

  • On the cheap!
I normally don't write reviews however this time I just couldn't help myself. I am a hobbiest bass player. The guys and I have a little garage thing going on once a week and I generally work on a very tight budget when it comes to my instruments. (since I don't use them to make a living) I bought a Squier P Bass a couple years back to learn to play bass. It had great sound and I was impressed for the $100.00 I spent on it through ebay. A couple weeks ago I bought another Squier a P/J bass this time. I started gathering parts for the P/J bass as I just wanted the body and I am going to change out pretty much all the parts on that Squier. I had already received the Quarter Pound Duncan's in the mail (P bass (neck) and Jazz (bridge) but didn't have all the other parts I had ordered so I decided...hey lets just use the P Bass pickups on the regular P bass and see how they sound. Good Lord! I am no expert, but these pickups are worth every bit of the $57.00 I paid for them. Beautiful low end sound! The stock pickups were a little harsh. I didn't think so until I put the Quarter Pound pick ups in. I didn't change out any of the pots yet so I am running the stock electronics and the Duncan's...I just can't say enough...smooth smooth sound. Love em! ... show more
