I bought this TV stand to place under my wall mounted TV to hide the cables coming out of the wall and hold smaller electronic devices. For this purpose it works great. The outside is Ikea level quality but the internal shelving is very thin and won't hold and heavy items. Overall I like the unit but I would not purchase it to place a TV on top.

I recently had my TV sitting on the floor as my prior TV stand was too small. I found this TV Stand because it was affordable, matched my current furniture, and had free shipping. Shipping was nice, it was very well packaged, and I usually get stuff beat up and broken because it has to come all the way up to Alaska but this arrived intact, only issue was one corner was the slightest bit depressed but it didn't bother me, and even when I look hard it's hard to notice. The color is perfect, a dark espresso, almost black in dim light - richly colored and very nice. The knobs are a matte silver and go nicely with the espresso color. Putting it together was easy, I have but together many pieces of furniture and this one fell towards the easy medium side. One thing to note: to keep the screws from showing they included espresso colored wood plugs which is great, but be sure to have a rubber mallet to knock them into place because the stand will not look quite right without this tool. The things that have to line up just right (i.e. the magnets for the opening door) are already put together. I had no problems with anything else lining up. My TV is large and very heavy and this TV stand supports 200 pounds with no problems noted. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because when I put my TV on it, it got a little scratched and the espresso color rubbed off and showed the white wood under it. I fixed this with black shoe polish and its fine now, but I wish the espresso layer of color was a bit harder to have come off. Over all I am very happy with this purchase, given the chance I would have made the same choice.

Assembly was quick and easy. The top shelf is very sturdy, heavy and well made. But the rest of the stand is very thin, especially the sides and legs. For me itโs ok for the $$$ as I purchased for a spare guest room with a 32โ TV. I would not have in my family room or living room, especially with a larger heavier TV. I would spend the extra $$$ and get a more beautiful piece of sturdy furniture to showcase your big screen.

Would have given this TV stand a 5 star review, if & this is a big IF they had included assembly plans. Everything came beautifully packaged & I'm one of those people who lays out the parts to compare with the instructions (gone are the days I have something 1/2 assembled only to find out I don't have the necessary part for the next step). We searched every single thing that came in the box. Nada. So, having assembled just about everything we own, well I'm the brains, my hubby is the brawn, I told my husband to give me a minute & I pictured what needed doing & we began. 20 minutes later, we had an incredibly sturdy TV stand. The knobs on the front are really nice & the wood ain't bad for what I paid for it. Hole in the back is split (bisected by the open shelf) allowing one hole to serve wires from both the open & closed shelves. I read the review about the person putting their TV on it & the stand collapsing, & honestly, if assembled correctly, that is simply not possible.

There are several bad reviews of this product, I'm not sure why. This TV stand does not have Superb quality but for the price, I think it's pretty good. It was not hard at all to assemble. I noticed there were many reviews saying the holes were too big, maybe this was a while back and the company has improved the product since. I had no issues at all with the screws. In fact I had to use extra force, and once all were tightened the stand seemed very secure, no indication that the screws would slip back out. I will agree, there is a slight concern about the sides being a bit flimsy, but once completely put together the stand as a whole is sturdy. Flat screen TV's now days are very light so there should not be any concern about the stand's ability to support. I actually have a 42' on mine. It's very compact but since I am in a small apartment, that's a good thing. It's compact but big enough to hold my DVR cable box(large) and game system. I had to put the DVD underneath because I was afraid to stack it on top of the cable box. Bottom line, for the amount I think it is worth it. It looks like a higher end piece of furniture. Altogether, I'm satisfied.

This was easy to put together. However, the front and back are not straight. On the front, the door is bowed one way, and the bottom of the frame is bowed the opposite way leaving about a 1/2" misalignment. The front and back are bowed so bad that the shelf will not stay in place, it falls through. I ended up extending the surface that the self sits on in order to stay held up. So now there is a gap in the back, but it is hard to see. Overall, it will work in a spare bedroom. But It is disappointing that pieces are so curved.

I feel like a lot of people expect furniture to all be solid wood, even if they pay bottom dollar. The sides and back of this are that thin particle board-type material, but you can't tell once it's together. Dark wood pretty much always look high-quality from afar and that's the case here, too. We have a nearly-three-year-old who plays around it every day and so far, it has held up magnificently. We've had it for a few months now, by the way. We have a 39" inch Vizio LCD tv on top, and it is a perfect fit. Probably wouldn't go any bigger than that with your tv. We have our xbox 360, wii (laying down horizontally) and modem on the top shelf, and underneath, behind the door, are our dvd player, remotes and controllers, cords/cables, etc. It's only a little less than two feet tall, but puts our tv at right about eye level when we sit on our furniture to watch it, so for us, it was just what we needed. We might replace it later on when we're able to afford something bigger, but we'll still use it somewhere in our home because we really do like it.
