A bonus to have extra functionality with under-shelving and two fabric storage bins. Easy to assemble despite shelving boards being mislabeled by manufacturer--boards different enough to spot mistakes as assembly steps were pictures only for directions. No tools needed. Very sturdy. Solid feel when fully assembled. Two people should move unopened box--very heavy, awkward. Risk of injury for one person to move unopened box to place for assembly. I almost bypassed this one due to the negative reviews. However, there were far more positives so I decided to go for it. This is the exact size I was searching for. When it arrived, the first thing I did was to check the parts list to make sure everything was there. Did a quick browse through the instructions, which were very good, and started the assembly process. I can't believe how easy it was to assemble! No tools!! The directions weren't really clear about where the black plastic rings went but I figured it out. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. I am a female octogenarian and if I can assemble this, anyone can. When finished, I turned it up right and tested for stability. Was perfect. If the leg pieces are tightened properly, there's no reason for it NOT to be sturdy. The plastic legs don't look like plastic, they look like wood. The shelves were not scratched or marred in any way but there was a whitish ridge around the edges. No problem - that's why they invented permanent markers. I just ran the black marker around those edges and it worked perfectly. I put a 50" TV on top of the stand and it looks GREAT!! As for the fabric drawers - they aren't the greatest but from the front view, they look nice. They're probably something I would never use and should I decide not to, that shelf could be used for other things. Bottom line is, I got more than my money's worth with this shelf. I do not understand the negative reviews. If it is put together properly, it is very sturdy. Any imperfections on the pressed wood can easily be fixed with a black pen. Bought this on sale for a little under 40$. Id say its worth that. A monkey could put it together, its pretty sturdy when fully assembled. No regrets buying but I would never pay 80$! Its cheap material.

Furinno JAYA TV Stand for up to 50-Inch TV, 55 Inch. I read the reviews and though I would try it. GOOD PURCHASE ! Good height , plastic but sturdy, easy to install the 55 inch Hisense tv fits good on the stand. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This shelf/TV stand looks nice and functional and is very simple to assemble. It also shipped and was delivered quickly. The shelves are described as "engineered wood", the top shelf where the TV would sit is ½" thick and its weight capacity is given as "up to 55" flat-screen TV" but no actual weight is specified. (The assembly instructions - which come with the unit - do specify 40# max.) It would benefit other buyers to know the actual weight rating of the top shelf before buying it since all 55" TVs may not weigh the same. I used the unit to replace a piece of ½" plywood that had been under our 55" flat screen but while plywood is "engineered wood" this unit used pressed wood, and THE SHELVES SAGGED under the weight of our TV. The stand for our TV mounts at its center so all of its weight bore down on the center of the shelf. Perhaps if our TV had dual stands out toward its sides, its weight would have been better distributed over the shelf unit's vertical supports (the center of the top shelf has no direct to floor support) but nothing is said about that. The sagging shelves detract from what otherwise would have been a five-star unit. ... show more
