Fantastic addition to my pump arsenal.
Set name: Wave - Single Manual Pump
I’d like to note that this is my third breastfeeding journey. I have used many pumps and a couple of manual pumps and I will say this one is my favorite hands down. Historically, I am an oversupplier. I have donated just about 4,000 ounces of milk so I truly believe that the manual pump (no dig at cordless wearables, they’re convenient) is always going to be the tried and true method for milk expression. The pros of this pump: - it’s got strong suction. I have to ease my way into being able to fully press the handle or I feel like I’ll rip my nips clean off. - it is comfortable to wear and use. I am on the larger chested side and it fits perfectly into my bra or nursing gown. The silicone flange is super comfortable to use. I put nipple crack for extra comfort but I find I don’t really need it with this pump. - it’s easy to clean. That’s really enough to say on its own. Comes apart easily and goes back together easily. I love that it’s dishwasher safe, but I like to hand wash my pump parts since I need them quickly most times and don’t want to wait. - it’s well constructed. It doesn’t feel cheap, which is a big plus considering the price point. I think it’s a steal, personally. - pouring milk is super easy. Comes right out quickly when I’m bagging. Love that. The cons: - 5 ounce capacity. Since I can pump over 5 ounces on one side easily and quickly, I always find wearables to be a pain for me because I have to stop and empty, then continue. For reference, when I don’t nurse my son before pumping I can easily get 7 ounces on one side alone. So, not a huge con but one that I run into with every wearable. - since I am loving it so much; I’m going to get the double pump instead of the single. To do that I have to return the one I am using now and exchange instead of being able to purchase them separately. Kind of annoying but not terribly inconvenient. Overall it’s a good manual pump. I haven’t had any issues with milk in the tubing like others have said, even though I do fill it up past the 5 ounce mark. The convenience and discretion of it greatly outweighs the cons. Photo included is after a nursing session. I still got great output. I love this thing.

DO NOT HOOK UP TO ELECTRIC PUMP

Pamphlet specifically says it is compatible with baby Buddha pump, but within 5 minutes of using, milk back flowed through tubing and into pump motor. Happened so quickly I didn’t even realize until it was too late-less than 30 seconds. Worked as a manual pump fine, but wrecked my $200 pump

Not happy with the product

I am not happy with the product, the milk is supposed to remain in the part of the extractor but I do not know why there comes a time that the milk through the hoses and I understand that it should not happen since those parts should not be wet, likewise in the part where the milk is extracted where the nipple is located there is accumulated milk and when you remove the cup said boot milk. I don't know if it's a defect of mine or if I'm doing something wrong but I followed the instructions and it's not because the glass fills up or reaches the limit because sometimes it happens with 2 ounces and sometimes with 4

Good Hand Pump… just didn’t last.

Love this hand pump but unfortunately it didn’t last. I have used it for maybe 2 months and not a ton but a decent amount because it’s very effective (although I nurse 90-95% of the time). This pump is discrete and effective at removing milk. I’ve been happy with it up until recently. It’s like the hand pump parts are coming apart and now it squeaks when used and I have to press the parts back together frequently. It’s probably no longer a good idea for me to use it but I’ve only had it for 2 months. Wish Willow would send me a new one as this is a great concept and product. Not sure if I just got a defective one.

This pump is THE manual pump!

I LOVE this pump. It is still a hand workout, but I love the handle for pumping. I am a 36/38 DD and it fits well. I have been getting good output with the standard flange. I can typically get 2-3 oz on one side for a 15 minute pump session. I will do 3-4 minutes using the stim setting on the hand pump, and then split the remainder of the time between the expression 1 and 2 settings. The milk collection portion comes apart in 4 easy-to-clean pieces. I like having it to help pump when one side is engorged, or I am out and about and don’t want to use my wearables. I also get great output with my boon on the opposite side of pumping and then I swap each to the opposite breast. It does not come with a case so I purchased a large makeup bag to keep it and my boons in and it has worked great!

Will cause milk backflow to your tubing system

I am returning this product because the backflow protection system has failed twice, and I am extremely disappointed and frustrated, especially considering the potential damage it caused to two expensive breast pumps. The first failure happened after only a few uses with my Spectra pump. The backflow protection failed and allowed milk to leak directly into the tubing provided with the cups. Milk traveled throughout the tubing and came dangerously close to reaching and potentially damaging my Spectra pump. The second failure happened within ONE MINUTE of using the cups with my BabyBuddha 2.0. Once again, the backflow protection system failed and milk was pulled into the tubing. This time, it contaminated my BabyBuddha tubing system, which was essentially brand new. I now have to purchase replacement tubing because of this product failure. What makes this even more frustrating is that your website specifically states that these cups are compatible with both Spectra and BabyBuddha pumps. I purchased these cups specifically because of that advertised compatibility, so I did not expect normal use with either pump to put the pumps themselves at risk. Breast pumps are not inexpensive, and I should not have to worry about a collection cup’s backflow protection failing and potentially ruining two separate pumps. Having the exact same safety feature fail twice, with two different compatible pumps, makes me completely uncomfortable continuing to use this product. I am extremely disappointed. Not only am I returning the cups, but I am now having to spend additional money replacing my BabyBuddha tubing because the backflow protection system failed. Thankfully, neither pump appears to have been permanently damaged, but both came far too close for me to feel confident or safe using these cups again.
