I got this in the mail yesterday. I had had my Wii for years, but lost the balance board a year ago. I finally decided to buy a new one. This came exactly as pictured. However, upon set up, I use this for Wii Fit, I realized that the instructions in my Wii Fit DVD sleeve told me only one balance board could be synced to each wii console. I tried several times to set it up and it wouldn't sync. So, I called Nintendo, only to spend a half hour on the phone and get no where. Finally, I went into the game on the Wii, and went to check balance board, in the settings. It told me to turn on the board. Obviously the board wasn't synced, and it knew that. So, I hit the power button, and it eventually synced. It was a big pain to go through all that, but now the board is working perfectly. I just used it for an hour with no problems!

This balance board replaces a 7 year old one that developed a crack on plastic top that grew with time and use and was starting to hurt my foot even though it still worked. The new one came with instruction book that is a little different from one that I got 7 years ago and still have. When first powered on, this new one did not yet talk to my existing Wii console and needed to be synchronized. The newer instructions do not list all the steps required (which it calls pairing) and say to refer to instructions that came with a board compatible game. Perhaps it is a different process for newer Wii-U console with which this supposedly also works, but I followed the synchronization instructions from my first board and was able to quickly complete the setup. It works fine.

It works! It works well! Stupendously accurate, super fun, and it's helped me get into shape. In July of 2013 I weighed 330 lbs and was concerned about the Balance Board handling my weight. Today, I just weighed in on Wii Fit Plus at 247 lbs. A combination of nutrition and exercise, plus the motivation and accountability that comes from daily weigh-ins on the balance board have been tremendous. Full disclosure? I've moved on to distance running instead of doing the exercises on the wii fit. But I still 'check in' with it every day, and it helps keep me in-check. I can also go back and look at how my weight has progressed. What other scale can do that!?

I don't ever write reviews but wanted to on this one. If 2016 is your year to lose weight this is a great way to get started. Those that have written that it doesn't synch etc please don't go by that. You have to "pair" the board. It's easy. Google it and you will have it working in 30 seconds. The other thing I wanted to say about this device is that I lost 30 pounds using it every day for six months about four years ago. I've gained that weight back and I'm back on the board again. If you have limited mobility due to back or knee issues this is the way to go. The rhythm march and rhythm boxing are huge cardio tools that you can really get into. I also run for thirty minutes in place (doesn't require the board) every morning. The other GREAT feature is the yoga. If you take advantage of all the games/exercises you will gain balance, flexibility AND lose weight and it is all LOW IMPACT. I'm 57 with a fused spin due to degenerated disc issues. This board has given me a new lease on exercising. You can go easy or go all out. The other thing I wanted to mention is that the weight displayed on my board is exactly the same as my digital scale. I've tried using an the standard exercise machines but the problem is that I get so bored with them. With the exercises on the balance board you are constantly trying to better your last score. If you do buy this, stick with it. Give it six months of daily effort and you will be well on your way to getting better fit and weight loss if you combine it with a healthy diet.

No problems with the board. My old one did not come with extensions and I had to improvise to use it on carpeting. Take Nintendo seriously when they say do not jump on the board. My young grandkids did that and wrecked my old one. One frustration I have is it will sometimes read your position wrong, and even though you do the exercise balanced and correctly, Wii Fit will have your position slightly off and interpret it as a poor effort.

As advertised, the Wii Balance Board I received does have scuff marks on it as it is used, but it works perfectly. I did have to look up online how to connect it to my Wii because no instructions were in the package and it's been way too long since I've synced new devices to my Wii console. But that was easy to find and easy to do.

Great addition to the wii setup we purchased during COVID lockdown. Paired with wii fit, provides comprehensive fitness program that tracks progress under multiple customized avatars. Adds things like balance and posture that aren’t available with standard programs. Hard to find these days, so happy to see it on Amazon. Item is as described- very good condition/ like new, and was packed well. Arrived on time.
