I got this in the mail yesterday. I had had my Wii for years, but lost the balance board a year ago. I finally decided to buy a new one. This came exactly as pictured. However, upon set up, I use this for Wii Fit, I realized that the instructions in my Wii Fit DVD sleeve told me only one balance board could be synced to each wii console. I tried several times to set it up and it wouldn't sync. So, I called Nintendo, only to spend a half hour on the phone and get no where. Finally, I went into the game on the Wii, and went to check balance board, in the settings. It told me to turn on the board. Obviously the board wasn't synced, and it knew that. So, I hit the power button, and it eventually synced. It was a big pain to go through all that, but now the board is working perfectly. I just used it for an hour with no problems! ... show more

They don't tell you that you cannot install a NEW Wii Balance Board unless you can remove the old one first. I'm sure there are steps out there, but... would have been nice to know. To be fair, the person who sold me this probably also didn't know.

Great addition to the wii setup we purchased during COVID lockdown. Paired with wii fit, provides comprehensive fitness program that tracks progress under multiple customized avatars. Adds things like balance and posture that aren’t available with standard programs. Hard to find these days, so happy to see it on Amazon. This balance board replaces a 7 year old one that developed a crack on plastic top that grew with time and use and was starting to hurt my foot even though it still worked. The new one came with instruction book that is a little different from one that I got 7 years ago and still have. When first powered on, this new one did not yet talk to my existing Wii console and needed to be synchronized. The newer instructions do not list all the steps required (which it calls pairing) and say to refer to instructions that came with a board compatible game. Perhaps it is a different process for newer Wii-U console with which this supposedly also works, but I followed the synchronization instructions from my first board and was able to quickly complete the setup. If I had bought just the board I would have given this a 4 to 5 star but for the following... The picture showed 2 disks, but only came with one (that was spelled out in the description when I looked back later). The board itself works just like it is supposed to, but the one disk that did come with it is defective and only works once in a while. I have tried multiple times and cleaned the disk, but have to restart it at least twice a workout. When it was shipped, luckily it was in the original box, because the box was damaged during shipment by USPS (not due to the seller's fault). But, the board was fine. ... show more

    • Wii Fit will have your position slightly off and interpret it as a poor effort.
No problems with the board. My old one did not come with extensions and I had to improvise to use it on carpeting. Take Nintendo seriously when they say do not jump on the board. My young grandkids did that and wrecked my old one. One frustration I have is it will sometimes read your position wrong, and even though you do the exercise balanced and correctly, Wii Fit will have your position slightly off and interpret it as a poor effort. ... show more

    • A little outdated but durable and does the trick
I would love to get an upgraded version of this! I like how it uses weight distribution to ensure you're doing yoga and strength training exercises correctly. I did notice that it weighs me 20-30 lbs lighter when I have it on my aerobic step.

It works great! Since WiiFit won't play without the balance board, it's good to be able to exercise indoors now. The summer heat makes exercise outdoors very hard, but using this indoors I get a good exercise (possibly better than I would outside).
