  • Works great
Color: 1 Pack
I got this little thing to stick in my mailbox, to notify me when I got mail. I was worried because the week I got it, the temperatures were below zero. But it worked fine, and continues to do so. I've only had it a few weeks, so I hope it lasts!

  • It's a wifi sensor...
Color: 1 Pack
So there are a couple of network protocols. Everyone has wifi, which is what this sensor is. But most wifi sensors are slow to react, this one took about 10 seconds to trigger. If your project can stand that time, it's great. I was using on staircase lights, so I needed fast reaction time. I needed up using a zigbee sensor and hub. ... show more

  • Not much of a help
Color: 1 Pack
It is taking at least 50 seconds to detect a motion. Unacceptable! Piece of garbage.

  • So Far So Good
Color: 1 Pack
I will use this to control a recirculation pump by activating a smart plug. So far I have only tested it out, but it seems to work as advertised. It's nice that it uses standard AA batteries instead of the less available and more expensive disc type batteries.

  • Great for mailbox detection
Color: 10 Pack
The sensor worked great inside my metal mailbox, without any modification, to detect when the mailbox door is opened. The mailbox is 30 feet outside my house. The sensor's wifi signal is evidently strong enough, the sensor sensitive enough, and fast enough that if the door is opened only briefly, the app is triggered. With the door closed, there are NO false alarms as would be expected for a caged sensor. The other sensor I used as a front door detector was initially problematic. Lots of false alarms from cars on the street passing by, 30 feet away. I placed black electrical tape on the domed sensor, covering the entire dome, save for a very small sliver on the top side of the dome. That worked to decrease the sensitivity enough so that only people near or at the door are detected. After signing up for the Tuya account (a chore imposed on the user- yeah, yet another app and account!) and agreeing to terrible terms, the device was discovered and installed without a problem. The sensor will work for only as long as there is a third party server out there you have no control over to host all the action. To use with the Alexa app (something the instructions never mention), after connecting the sensor using Tuya smartlife app, select "add device" in the Alexa app, then "motion detector", then "other" which takes you to a login screen for your Tuya account. As mentioned by others, there can be a several second delay before the app issues a detection report, but that is not an issue for my uses. The time required for the sensor to detect motion and send the wifi signal to my router is very short, so an initial trigger is never missed, even though the report is delayed. There is considerable dead time after a detection before another motion can be detected, so this is not the device to use for assembly line counters, etc, where rapid, multiple detections are desired. Would be nice if these detectors were recognized directly by the Alexa app without the third party stuff. ... show more

  • Good detection range, low battery drain, useful app automation options
Color: 1 Pack
I got the PHOVOLT Wi-Fi PIR motion sensor to trigger actions with other smart devices and to get notifications of motion at a distance. Motion detection worked for me up to 34 feet (inside). Detection angle was about the 128 degrees specified. When it detects motion it takes about 4 seconds for the app to register the event. The app also gets no-motion events. I at first thought this was useless but realized how useful it would be to know when motion stopped, e.g. a child in a room stopped moving around or pet in the yard, or when business slows down and nobody has come in for a while. Motion and no-motion actions can also be set to trigger only when the condition has persisted for a while, e.g. trigger only when there's been no motion for five minutes. I have it in the front yard to turn lights on when someone walks up, but with a delay so it looks more like someone saw them and walked over to turn on a light. This is better than lights that come on the moment they detect motion. You can set up complex patterns with the Tuya/Smart Life apps, e.g. motion detected, wait 3 seconds, turn on hall light, wait 4 seconds, turn on living room light and turn off hall light, wait one minute, turn living room light off. It works with the popular Tuya and Smart Life apps. It wasn't too hard to connect. It worked fine with rechargeable NiMH batteries. I measured 0.045mA when the unit is idle, so it basically doesn't drain the battery when there's no motion, so battery life is dependent entirely on how much motion there is. I tested when it sends actual events and it's just when motion starts, then when there hasn't been motion for about a minute, so even in an area with constant motion it shouldn't drain the batteries quickly. ... show more

  • Easy set up
Color: 1 Pack
I was expecting a much more complicated process to set this up, but it was quick! I already had the Smart Home app and Alexa app set up, so as soon as I added it in Smart Home, we were in business. I was able to quickly integrate it into routines like turning the bathroom lights/fan on. Took about 5 minutes total since we had everything else pretty much ready. ... show more
