After discovering that people were adding things to my garbage and using my hose/water, I decided to put up a security flood light, as some of my other neighbors have done. I tried one, but sadly it did not work, so I opted to try the WYZE camera -- it had good ratings and was affordable. The unit was very easy to install and even included a hook to hold the base while you connected the wires (such a simple addition shows how much attention was given to the product). Once installed, the setup process was easy -- my only 'complaint' is that they should make the bit about needing to press the 'setup' button much clearer in the instructions. Once I figured out that snafu, the rest was super-simple, and it started working immediately. The software is easy to use but still needs a bit of tweaking. I love the fact that you can adjust the camera and then set the area where the sensor will be triggered -- this way, you can exclude things like cars passing by, moving branches, etc. The picture quality is simply amazing! Even at night, it looks like an HD television show. And it is even better on an iPad. This thing is so nice that I will most likely add another one to the back in the very near future. Now, for the downside -- the only thing that really frustrated me with this was having to go through the installation video every single time I had to re-enter the wi-fi password (due to a combination of bad eyesight and a tiny screen). If the instructions were separate from the setup, I would give this a 100%, but because of that, I can only give it a 99%. The light is very bright, "daytime" (cold) light, and works very well. The built-in speaker is really loud but clear. Overall, I have only good things to say about this, which is pretty rare anymore.

I bought this version of a flood camera light because I was limited by the fact our house has hardy board and my husband doesn't want to deal with cutting it. I am stuck with 2 models of floodlight cameras I could see had round bases that would fit the existing box! The other no name camera had mixed reviews under 3.5 stars. All that out of the way -- INSTALLATION HAS BEEN THE ISSUE!!! The light connected easily and the light portion worked fine. The ISSUE was the CAMERA! The Wyze site and boards didn't give me a warm fuzzy at all! Lots of not supported app info and issues worth firm ware. OUR ISSUE: Light working but Camera not -- no lights no anything (instructions are vague and useless). App installation guide was much of the same. SOLUTION: We took the entire light/camera off and reinstalled. We decided to just let it sit and be a floodlight and I would contact Wyze tomorrow. Well my husband walked back after about 10 mins to look at the damn thing and low and behold the red light was blinking....I continued the setup and after a bit of a glare issue got the camera installed and firmware updated. SUNNY DAY WARNING! Using a glass screen protector for your phone may require you to "shade" the camera for it to read the QR Code. I used a sheet pan to block the sun and placed it behind the camera that the camera could scan the phone. So far it's working great and was easy peasy after the major hurdles we had to get by! We live on a farm so I want the camera to check in the guard dogs and see what's going on. One keeps escaping so I wanted to see what it was doing and one likes to torment my chickens. Also I can yell at them or see why they are going crazy at night. I was considering getting another one for the front yard but I'm waiting to see how this goes for a few weeks. Hope this helps!
