It comes with a programmable timer (6, 12, 16hours frequency) and for convenient automation of on/off. It provides multiple brightness levels to suit a variety of plant needs as show in the video. There is also a setting to alternately turn on/off a pair of light strips. The setup is a breeze as it comes with the option of either screwing the strip or sticking it with provided attachment strips. The attachment strips by themselves are strong enough to adhere the light strip to smooth wooden and glass surfaces for a long time. I had older grow lights that I used and thought I liked them. When I got these, I realized how much easier these are to use and how much brighter they can get. They have three brightness settings and three timing options as well as an on/off. They supply the stickers that work very well, screws, in case you want to make it more permanent and zip ties for shelves. The cords are nice and long...a must in a greenhouse, but not too long to become a problem. I'm about to buy more. Highly recommend. And yes, I am a real gardener in Pennsylvania. The long nights wreak havoc on my annuals that I'm trying to save for next summer, so I really appreciate good lighting. ... show more

These are nice lights for what I use them for. I’m growing a lemon tree that I started from seed. I live in western PA so these lights work great for wintering in my basement along with some kind of tropical fern the wife has plus my strawberry pot and plants.

They were easy to set up. I used the sticky strips and adhered them to glass in a curio cabinet. So far they've been working well with all types of plants. I have philodendrons, calathea and some succulents.
