Description

Something whispers in the shadows... From E.E. Holmes, author of the award- winning Gateway Trilogy, comes the first in the highly anticipated companion series The Gateway Trackers. It’s been several years since Jess and Hannah Ballard faced events that forever altered their connection to the Durupinen, an ancient clan of women tasked with maintaining the balance between the living and the dead. The girls swore that after the devastation and chaos they endured, they would never get caught up in the inner workings of the Durupinen again. They were wrong. After breaking the code of secrecy and facing the judgment of the High Council, Jess and Hannah have no choice but to become Trackers, working to take down those who would exploit the spirit world for profit or power. Their first assignment takes them into the deep South, where Jeremiah Campbell, a self-proclaimed spiritual guru, lures wealthy and desperate devotees with promises of a deeper connection with the dead. As the girls go undercover, it soon becomes clear that Campbell is not merely the con artist they suspected him to be and that they, and the spirit world they are sworn to protect, are once again in unimaginable danger. Whispers of the Walker is the first spine-tingling installment in "The Gateway Trackers" series by E.E. Holmes. Read more

  • Excellent Beginning For A Spin-off Series!!
Format: Kindle
I must say, in the beginning, I was a little disappointed. It seemed as if Holmes herself was having trouble getting the series off the ground, and to flow like the other ones had previously. Eventually, it did begin to pick up the pace and fall into Holmes’ style of writing I felt in the previous series. When authors start going into the rehashing of previous books or series it’s a major turn-off to me. I have to say Holmes did a remarkable job in blending them together, whereas it didn’t feel like she was regurgitating what was just so thoroughly explained in the previous 3 book series. Nice touch!! And the best part of the entire book, was when they broke the “case” wide open. Never expected that spin in a million years. It also gave an indication as to future drama that will eventually play its way out in the upcoming books. But just exactly when, where, and how, leaves the reader with a sense of glimmering interest to keep you reading more. ... show more

  • Fantastic storyteller!
Format: Kindle
So glad I came across this author as her paranormal books are the kind you can't stop reading or can't get enough of. I like books I can forget I am reading and feel like I am part of the story and this series of books certainly does that. They start out with the Gateway series and move on with the same cast and storyline but add new characters and continue the story. I am very picky of the paranormal authors I read (I have 5) and EE Holmes makes #6. And because I love them equally there is no order I can list them in. If you read only one series this summer/fall make sure this is the one. You wont be disappointed. ... show more

  • The girls are back in town
Format: Kindle
So it seems like this story picks up a couple years after the twins left Fairhaven and then it jumps right into the next adventure. The twins are still the same, not much has changed and they even brought back Tia. This story definitely had me with the mystery and I think it was splendidly done, the author definitely has a knack for building up the suspense and giving u an outcome least expected. Excited for chapter 2 ... show more

  • Enjoying the continuation on
Format: Kindle
I find myself drawn to these books and connecting with the characters. While there were a few.typos in this one, such as referring to Marigold as Marion at one point, the story continued to.intrigue me. Looking forward to the next book in series.

  • engrossing read
Format: Kindle
I initially started with the Gateway Trilogy and found book one a bit slow to get into. However after just a few pages of book two I was thoroughly hooked. I devoured the second and third books in one day. I was excited to see the story continues with the Trackers series and this one didn’t disappoint. I don’t want to reveal anything to spoil the fun for new readers. Suffice it to say it’s a Great Read! ... show more
