Disclaimer: This review is of a product provided to me for free, however this review will contain my complete honest opinion and personal experiences. -- When I got this carrier, it was with the plan of eventually getting a small dog to add to our family. But this ended up being extremely useful when a little stray cat showed up at our door one night! As just a carrier, it's very well made and sturdy. Once I unfolded it, it kept its shape very well. It also came with a padded board to stabilize it and extra sherpa padding to keep the carrier warm and cozy. There's also a little lead and clip to keep your pet secured. The pockets on the side were perfect for keeping paperwork and supplies when we transported the cat to and from the vet, and the handle and strap were comfortable to use. Despite being a stray, the cat we found immediately felt at home in this carrier and felt safe, especially at the vet office. I love that you can unzip both sides of the carrier, as well as the top. It's very easy for your pet to see out of. I didn't know if I'd find a use for the built-in pen, but it turned out to be very useful for us! We didn't want the cat wandering around when he was unsupervised, so I decided to try expanding the pen to give him a little room to stretch. He loved it! The pen folds and unfolds looks those pop-up hampers or car window shades, and it's very forgiving. There is a little zipper door between the main carrier and the pen, so you can keep your pet to one area if needed, such as for cleanup. The cat we had spent a lot of time just hanging in the pen area, watching everything around him. We didn't have any issues with our cat biting or scratching the carrier, so I'm not sure how will that would hold up, but it seemed very sturdy and the fabric durable. For the price and features, I'd definitely pick up another!

not sure what i was expecting really, but i needed this for a very specific purpose and the fact it unfolds into an additional room of this shape and size was what sold me. so i wasn't sure what type of material it was gonna be, and i guess it didn't matter as long as it worked for this specific trip. low and behold it's really high quality materials and parts, i am so pleasantly surprised. the straps and buckles are all great quality and the material of the bag itself is extra durable and heavy duty, not some cheap vinyl poly combo, it's got integrity. the padding for each room is super soft, not very thick though, but that's what makes it so much more portable i imagine. there are so many mesh screen air holes that it may not be good for extreme cold weather conditions, or, at least, there would need to be further accomodations made if that were the case. the fold out playpen was a brain teaser to fold back up, but once i figured it out, it made complete sense and packs away really neatly. hint: when folding it in, fold the sides *under* the main chamber, not above. everything falls into place from there. it's fairly light weight and and can unzip to be folded up pretty flat when not in use. it's much better than expected and a great value at that price point. the color is a bit loud, but i knew what i was getting into when i ordered. very pleased to keep it

This cat carrier has one of the biggest extension of the carriers I have seen out there and that I own. Left open on the floor my cats decided it is a perfect place to sit and view the world. The dimensions given on the item are wrong. The main compartment is 12" high and the extension is 10" high. It is 30.25 inches long (not 32") with everything open and the main compartment is 17 and 1/4" long. Two major drawbacks are that you can't open the extension without opening the main compartment (so a risk of cat escape) and it isn't as tall as some that fit airline specifications so my cat can't sit up without bending her head over. Photos are of an 8 pound cat. Pros 1) Well built. The extension can be completely removed as a separate compartment or left attached to the main compartment, the webbing appears to be heavy duty enough to keep a cat from tearing ti 2) Cats seem to like it as they voluntarily go in and sleep and watch the world from the extension. 3) The padding for the main compartment (especially if the extension padding is also in there is soft enough to be comfortable for a cat (of course we all know cats can choose to sleep in ceramic sinks and other hard as a rock places but it makes me feel like I am making my cat comfortable). 4) The extension padding stays in place due to velcro around the edges of the floor (which means you will need to separate the side panel webbing from that) 5) Appears to be well built and the zippers (all except one) have holes in the pulls so that you can twist tie or lock (use a TSA lock so if you lose the key other passengers or airport personnel can unlock it) the zippers shut to keep escape artists inside the cage. 6) The lease inside the main compartment is adjustable in length and can be removed so you can hook in something longer (actually you can have both hooked in) 7) The extension is big enough to put food and water dishes in there with plenty of room left over for the cat. ( A dirtbox wouldn't likely be useable because the roof of it is so low and the cat wouldn't be able to crouch fully to use it). Cons 1) Not has high as some other airline compliant carriers. My 8 pound cat can not sit up all the way in this and when she walked out of the extension the roof of that goes up as it goes over her back) 2) The leash is not long enough to give the cat free range in the main compartment and the extension which means you still risk a cat escape when you have to have the carrier unzipped to take the leash off of the cat so they can use the extension 3) When the extension is folded up (see the video the seller uploaded for how to fold it up) and zipped in place it bulges into the main compartment. This makes that compartment smaller and while not really an issue for my 8 pound cat a larger cat really wouldn't have much room to move around in. 4) The roof of the extension may or may not be cat claw resistant. It's just nylon. My cats didn't claw at it but then again they are pretty calm. Also the sides of it collapse pretty easily so you may need to straighten it back up if someone bumps it from the top. This is definitely better than may carriers out there, with the extension open it would definitely fit two cats in there (the main compartment alone only fits one cat. With two or three cats in there you can't carry it anywhere because the floor of the extension isn't stiff, but if you weren't going anywhere and just needed to contain them this would work), has the cat escape potential due to having to open it to open the extension and the leash isn't long enough for the cat to use most of the extension (fixable problem). In my opinion an option to consider. The first two photos my 8 pound cat is in the extension. The second photo you can see how it isn't very tall. The third photo she is in the main carrier. The fourth photo she is sitting in the main compartment and you can see how much higher than that her head is (there is even less hight in the extension by 2"). The fifth she is walking into the main compartment. The sixth shows the leash. The seventh is where you unzip the extension. the next 3 are dimensions: height of main compartment (which is 12" not 10, extension is 10") length of everything in it's longest dimension (which is 30 and 1/4" not 32") and a close of of that, and length of main compartment.

I got this to toss my ducks in incase of a tornado as it has an opening on the top. This is made well, however, I actually didn't receive the "playpen" part of the carrier. I double checked the item listing and it should be included.
