The best thing about this is the ability to adjust the length. Short people don't always reach foot rests very well, so this is a great, comfortable solution. It's also just nicer to use than regular foot rests if you don't have shoes on because it's soft against your feet. I thought I would find this hammock more comfortable, and make the wheelchair lighter if I could remove the footrests. I think it does help a little in decreasing the weight, but the hammock foot rest was not as comfortable as I had hoped. The fit, at least on the wheelchair I tried it out on, made my feet slide together into the center of the hammock. I find it more comfortable to use the separate foot rests. It may depend upon the individual wheelchair, and your particular situation. I found it to be constructed well, and it was easy to attach to the chair. I have a wheelchair and do well with it, sometimes I need to be seated and pushed. This hammock comfortably secures my feet so that I can be pushed when necessary.
