We purchased this for the hallway. It is a pretty light, but the finial would not work. We could not get a replacement part, so we had to return the entire light. We tried to screw the finial on this light and on a different threading of the same size, but it would not work because the finial was stripped. The way the shade attaches to the light is also very awkward. There is a long, threaded pipe that screws into the ceiling. Then you add items in this order: NUT, WASHER, Glass Shade, WASHER, NUT, Metal Covering, THEN the Small Finial. I'm not sure why they did not make the finial one piece instead of two. You'll will have to remove the finial, metal covering, nut, and washer each time you need to replace a bulb, AND I believe it would be easy to drop the glass shade while doing this. ... show more

I like the look of this fixture, and the size is just right for our room (about 12' square). I particularly like the clean white glass part. Some others I've had have a built in dirty yellow look, but this one is nice & clean, letting a clean white light shine through. It takes 2 regular light bulbs, and puts out a lot of light. I also like that you can change the bulbs without having to fully remove the glass part. (You'll need a step stool to do it, but I hate taking the glass off just to change a bulb). Install is easy, and the only hassle is getting the glass part lined up with the screw (hence my dislike of taking that glass off.) Once it's up, it looks great. Only time will tell on longevity, but frankly, there's very little to go wrong, so it should be fine for years to come. Overall, this is a very nice fixture for a reasonable price, and it looks good in our dining room. We're considering getting another for the living room. ... show more

Very reasonably priced, so much so that I was a bit skeptical about what I'd receive. Was pleasantly surprised, nicely made and looks good once installed. The reason I knocked off a star was the included swivel bracked was a bit flimsey, and actually made it nearly impossible to draw base tight against the ceiling. Fortunately, the base mounting holes are the correct dimensions to mount directly to the round electrical box in the ceiling. I simply discarded the swivel bracket. Still, I would recommend this light and will likely use to replace other ceiling lights in the house. ... show more
