  • On Hour 20 running on Propane - Use a Line Interactive UPS for Electronics
Style: 4650W Dual Fuel + Wheel Kit Pattern Name: Generator
I have a 16x40' Cabin. I bought this as a backup unit for power outages. I'm currently on hour 20 of continuous running off a propane tank (30 lb). I have it running a window AC (Inverter type which has less surge watts, mine is a Midea 10,000 U-Shaped Unit), a full size refrigerator, a small chest freezer, All my lights (LED) and two ceiling fans, plus electronics ***NOTE ON ELECTRONICS***. **Electronics** - This has very distorted harmonics on the power, so you should put a "Line Interactive" UPS battery backup (I got an APC 750 for $140 on Amazon) between this unit an any sensitive electronics (like Internet router and TV). There are generators that produce a cleaner sinewave. You CAN run electronics directly off of it, but you might fry something which would negate the affordable price of this generator. You need a "line interactive" UPS not just a "backup" UPS. This unit can surge a bit and every once in a while (when my refrigerator kicks on) my lights might flicker or go out for a beat... this is why I have a "line interactive" UPS on my router and TV. It has OK fuel efficiency... not the best, just OK. It's quieter than my last Generac portable generator. The remote start is nice, but if you are using propane you have to turn on the propane before starting then turn it off (at the tank) when it's not running. So that sort of negates the whole remote start thing for propane. Technically you want to turn off the fuel petcock when it's off as well. So this isn't just a plug in it to a fuel source then push the button to start and stop it type of unit. I connected this to my AC panel. This UNIT is ONLY 120 Volts. To run a full AC panel it should be 240 v. But I use it to just run half of my panel and I have my breakers arranged so that it runs what I want it to run. It will run my entire cabin but I turn off my water heater and don't try to run my washing machine while my AC is going. It's not a perfect unit. It's not magic. But I got a good deal when I bought it. It runs fine. I know to protect my electronics before I used it. I like that I can run it on Propane, because I can store propane without it going bad and the carb won't gunk up if it goes months without use. I've only had it for a week, so I can't say about reliability. ... show more

  • WGen 3600cv
Style: 4650W + CO Sensor Pattern Name: Generator
I have just received the WGen 3600cv without Wheel kit. Certainly would have preferred to have the wheel kit version but it was not available. Can buy the Wheel kit for $79.99, if they sold it for $40 it would be a no-brainer. The generator was packaged very well, No damage at all. Just add oil and gas and it was ready to go. I ran it for 4 hours of break-in, with various loads under 1800 watts. Ran very smoothly. After the run the oil was down about 10oz, added the rest of the supplied oil and I ready for our next power outage! ... show more

  • Quality
Style: 4650W Dual Fuel + Wheel Kit Pattern Name: Generator
When opening the box you can see quality by the way the packaging was engineered. I'm running it on propane and it started right up and was quieter than I was led to believe on YouTube videos. Smooth running and good output. It looks well made and well thought out. I REALLY like the remote start and the small battery charger that plugs in to keep the starter battery topped off. In the past I bought small cheap generators but had to work on them every time I needed them, no problem with this one (at least on propane). I feel obligated to add at least one con: I had to wheel it about 50 yards from my tool shed to the generator shed over rough ground and since I am tall it kept hitting the back of my legs. I suppose on level ground or a shorter distance this wouldn't be an issue but I had to stretch to find a fault with this machine. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: 4650W Pattern Name: Generator
I did a lot of shopping and read a lot of reviews. This generator seems to be the best buy around for a top rated household generator. I bought it in advance of yet another hurricane season here in Florida. I think it will fit our needs. It is well constructed. The only recommendation I will make is to buy either the wheeled version or the wheel kit. It is awkward and heavy to move around. I ordered the wheel kit today My oops. I would definitely recommend to a friend. ... show more

  • Great little Genny…..
Style: 4650W Dual Fuel + Wheel Kit Pattern Name: Generator
Like my Westinghouse 9500DF, this little guy has been performing very well. I had hoped to use it for RV traveling, but its WAY too loud for campgrounds or near anyone overnight, so I use it to power electric tools on my land. Works equally as well on gasoline or propane. Starts easily when the battery is well charged. Seems many of these come with almost discharged batteries. but they charge up quickly with the enclosed chargers. Thanks to Westinghouse for their reliable generators, and their reliable partner Amazon where you can find one whenever you need one. ... show more

  • Good once altitude kit was installed
Style: 4650W Dual Fuel + Wheel Kit Pattern Name: Generator
I’ve always had small Honda generators, that always ran at whatever altitude I traveled to. Bought this for home use with power outages. Nothing I read before purchase said it required a high altitude kit to run at 3500 ft. So I spent a lot of time not getting it started on propane. Started a service request. It took almost two weeks of back and forth slow responses for them to tell me I needed to instal an altitude kit for it to run, and that was after I found some info about altitude and asked if that was why. The very first contact could have answered that question, as every time I contacted them I said I lived at 3500 ft. Why they don’t offer the altitude kit installed as a purchase item when ordering, I don’t know. It wasn’t that difficult to install though took a while, but taking apart a new generator to make carburetor modifications didn’t feel that good to me. That it took me three weeks to get parts to get it running when I got it for the winter storms I was in the middle of didn’t feel like good customer service. I had no power during the heaviest snow we’ve had in decades, with a generator right there. As you can tell, it made me unhappy and very cold. Once modified, it still took a bit of work to get it running. But once running, it meets my needs. It is not quiet. But it handles the loads it says it will. Four stars is because it is loud, but also the customer service sure doesn’t deserve five stars. That would get 2 stars. ... show more
