The boxes started to arrive a week before the delivery date. Box 1 was the back, seat, and supports. Box 2 was the arms & instructions. Box 3, the mattress. Being the impatient women that I am I wasn't waiting for help. I found it easier to build the seat, and back vertical against the wall. It will take two people to install the seat/back to the frame. It's very sturdy, and the mattress is very comfortable. Remember not to tighten the bolts that connect the supports to the arms until the back/seat is in the slots. (I read reviews relentlessly before a purchase. Please let me know if this helps you.) We Got this item for our 13 y/o and she loves it. I would say an 8 out of 10 stars... It took myself my husband and the help of our kid a good 2 hours to put this beast together. The directions are clear for the "most" part. There was some thinking involved lol but not too much. Just take your time and follow the pictures! It came with 1 allen key but my husband had extras that were the same size so we all 3 could do something.. It Still took 2 hours! The futon frame is very solid and sturdy. The queen mattress does leave a bit of a gap like some of the other reviews stated. So, I split the difference on the frame with the mattress and it's not very noticable. Maybe 2 inches on each side. Nothing pillows don't fix.. Now putting it from bed back to couch that is extra tricky!. Like the reviews stated it is not a one person job... But i told my daughter she had to figure it out... So clever. she tied scarfs to the back/top of the futon couch on each side she then stands in the middle of the bed and pulls the scarfs simultaneously as she pushes with her knees on the bottom to get it back to couch position. The mattress was shipped rolled up so i let it lay flat on the floor and then we rolled on it to flatten out the bulges from it being shipped the way it was. If it wasn't for it being so hard to transition from couch to bed i would have rated it a ten. No defects. No scratches. Arrived on time. All hardware included 3 different boxes though not 2. I like the futon. My only complaint is, it takes to long to assemble. It’s a two person assemble with 1 Allen wrench. The directions are clear. I love it’s sturdiness. I had a question about the mattress. It ships separate. I didn’t know this. The seller was pretty quick to respond. Which makes buying online a lot better. I recommend buying. Overall, what I received was decent. Two boxes were delivered upstairs directly to my apartment door. However, after unboxing and assembling I realized that the mattress which was supposed to be included was not in either box. I checked the mail room hoping it might have come in a separate box, but no luck. Now, I have a frame but no mattress. Really disappointing... Update: The mattress finally arrived today; 3 days after it was initially marked 'delivered'. I would have given it 5 stars if I hadn't been so stressed about the missing/delayed mattress. Although the description states that frame and mattress are separate and may arrive separately, I think it needs to be made more clear that there are actually 3 boxes delivered, not 2 even though the first 2 boxes are marked 'Box 1 of 2' and 'Box 2 of 2'. The arms of the futon have there own box, the body of the futon has it's own box, and the mattress has it's own box. It would also be best if there was a better way to track delivery on an item that is made of multiple shipments. When you see 'delivered' and not all boxes have arrived (especially with no way to know the status of the rest of the shipments) it is easy to cause problems. I hope everyone that reads this won't have to experience the same panic and confusion I did. Although the actual product is worth a 5 star rating, the delivery process, confusion, and stress the delay caused me to drop the overall rating. ... show more

If you are disable or elderly or in your 40s like me with back problems. You arent going to like this, its so heavy to lift up to a couch position .An it is rather expensive 700.00 you could get a bed nice 1 for less an more comfortable

This set comes in two boxes for the frame. The mattress ships separately. This kind of annoying since I do not have my mattress yet and I want to sit on the couch. The mattress will arrive in three days so I will just be patient. The frame required assembly. Rarely have I encountered a kit that assembled so easily. The directions were unbelievably clear and there are colored disks everywhere to help insure that pieces are installed correctly. Every piece of the frame fit perfectly, all the screws and hardware bits were in the box. It took about 2.5 hours to assemble because there were just a lot of things to attach to other things and I goofed off frequently. I did this by myself but two people would make final assembly easier because the frame has a bit of weight to it. I may update this review once the mattress arrives. ... show more

Bought this for my 18 year old son. It took us a few hours to assemble due to the only instructions you have are pictures and not actual wording. One of the middle boards was already broke so that was alittle bit of a disappointment. Mattress smells weird but we fixed that issue.
