I initially bought this for my male cat but he wouldn’t have anything to do with it. Even when I tried to play with him with this thing he acted like he did not like it. Before the day was over my female cat had found it and loved it immediately! She is still a little stand offish from her days as a feral cat so when I tried to play with her with the item, she was not interested. My female cat, Peaches will play with it a lot and now that Peaches has taken such a keen interest in it NOW the male, Ebony, will play with it, so I guess I need to get a second one. They seem to really like the size. I got some that are really fuzzy and crinkly when you squeeze them, they won’t touch those at all! I think that’s just my cats. I bought them each a nice soft really fuzzy bed. No matter what I did they would not touch them. When I tried to force them to give it a try they both leaped off those beds like they had been tasered!

There isn't anything terribly wrong with the toy. The aroma of cat nip was moderately noticeable upon opening the bag. The material / fabric isn't sufficiently interesting to our cat. I covered it in a sock an added more catnip (included) inside the sock. This improved the interest of our cat and moved it up one notch from complete disinterest. Real prey moves. This toy did not prove to be a substitute for play prey sneak attacks on my stocking feet.

Having 3 indoor cats, it's safe to say we have tested our fair share of catnip toys. This catnip kicker from West Coast Pet Products is by far the most durable & highly scented one we've tried (I purchased the denim version). This kicker has been chewed on and abused by all three of our fur babies, and the seams are just as snug as the day it arrived. The little pocket holds a fair amount of extra catnip, but I've found that my cats are obsessed enough with the quantity already sewn into the product, that I don't need to add any extra to encourage play. I'll be purchasing more toys from this company and definitely recommending to fellow cat-lovers!

The media could not be loaded. Best cat toy if you fill it with lots of catnip that is fresher than the catnip most toys come with. Starwest has fresher catnip. I use a long dessert spoon to fill the pocket. Video of my 20-yr old next if it uploads....

I'd barely set the plastic bag package down before I had a cat start to rub their head all over it and sniff it intently, so I had a pretty good guess that the contents weren't for me. With four cats, I had quite a difficult time figuring out how I was going to go about inserting the catnip into the pocket, as they were milling about, rubbing my legs and meowing. It is some potent catnip, I must say, if they sniff the spot where I'd briefly set the package down on a table then flop over in drugged-out joy, or whatever it is. At first, I thought I'd try to poke some needle holes in the plastic bag holding the catnip, but I have two young males that play aggressively and didn't want them to chew or claw the bag out and scatter the catnip hither and thither all over my hardwood. So I poured half the 'nip into small semiprecious stones bag and tied it closed, confident in its security. The new bag hasn't affected their enjoyment in the least. My cats are two pairs of siblings aged 17 years and 2 years; the 2 year olds go nuts over it and completely ignore the Kong kicker I bought for them, my older female licks, grasps, rubs her head, flops over, and otherwise displays her clear enjoyment of it, and the older male has the attention span of a gnat and simply sniffs, nudges and licks it. It's so cute to watch the younger ones take one sniff and fall over bonelessly, one right after the other. Cats are so weird. This kicker is hands down a fan favorite.

I was lucky enough to get the 2 pack of these kickers while they were available. I have 6 cats and these are unanimously loved by all my cats, which is saying a lot. They've been taking a real beating and so far have held up really well. A few small punctures, but no rips, the stitching is all good and no stuffing is leaking from anywhere yet. The catnip pouch is great. It doesn't have any kind of closure, which worried me at first, but then I understood that it was so tight against the fabric that it didn't need any closure anyway. The tightness does make it difficult to get fresh catnip in there, but it's doable. And the catnip stays in and doesn't leak at all that I've noticed. So, yeah, I have cats rolling around on the floor with these and kicking the crap out of them periodically throughout the day, it's great. Super adorable to watch. I'm definitely planning on buying more in the future because 2 is not enough for my horde.
