My first kayak I bought $180 Werner. I thought, why in the world would I want to pay that much for a paddle? There is a major difference between a $25 and these Werner paddles when you're paddling for hours at a time. $280 is a bit expensive for me, but it is a very nice paddle and a couple ounces lighter than my first Werner paddle. This is a great paddle. It's very light compared to what I am used to. I purchased the red bladed version and it has great looks. Pros: Feather light! My 230mm (2-piece, red) scaled right about 30 oz, where my Bending Branches Bounce was 40 oz. It looks slick and have the definitive premium quality feel. Semi transparent. It snaps on easily yet stays firm with no slop. Very well made with no visible defects. Cons: Tend to lightly oscillate up and down when pulling light. Hard pull was fine though. This is my third paddle after stock Sea Eagle 370 paddle and Bending Branches Bounce. I would easily forgive the funny tendency to oscillate up and down when pulling lightly because this paddle is so darn light weight. It is much easier for my arms for 3+ hour kayaking. The fancy curve they put into the paddle surface gives hi-tech look, but I am pretty sure this is the cause of the oscillation. ... show more

I have been using the Werner trophy charcoal 250cm with my Jackson coosa HD for fishing. I love it! I will purchase the exact same paddle if I ever have any issues with it. It's super light weight and manageable when I have a fish I'm bringing in. It is worth every penny!
