I bought this to hook an old vhs/dvd player to my new smart tv. After plugging and playing, it appeared to not be working. So I went back and watched some videos others had posted and realized that little button on the unit makes all the difference. When I got my old DVD player out, and getting teady to hook it up. I tested the operation of it. I slide out door didn't work. Sent the adapter back, then ordered a new DVD player.
