Description

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 2800-Watt Inverter Generator provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops, without all the noise of a regular generator. Produce up to 2800 surge watts and 2250 rated watts of power on gasoline, or connect a propane tank for up to 2800 surge watts and 2000 rated watts of power on LPG. The WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor helps protect both you and your family by automatically turning off the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Our 98cc engine operates at a quiet 60 decibels at no load. This limits its invasiveness while camping, hunting, tailgating, and restoring backup power. The WEN 2800W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. The lightweight 45-pound design makes for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 1.58-gallon tank provides up to 9 hours of half-load run time (or 13.9 hours half-load run time on a 20-pound LPG tank). The fully-packed panel comes equipped with two three-prong 120V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, one 12V DC receptacle, and two 5V USB ports. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the unnecessary usage of fuel. Need more energy? Easily link up any two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage amongst multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown combine with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights to safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. And because this is a WEN Product, your inverter generator comes backed by a 3-year limited warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer helpline. Remember when your generator powered your electronics safely and quietly? Remember WEN.

  • Nice purchase for a decent price!
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
I'm happy with my purchase. It's provides pretty quiet power when I need it. It's easy to start. Lasts a long time on a tank of fuel (depending on power draw) it's a nice, small size. Not too heavy. Breaking In is pretty easy. Love the fuel shut off to run the fuel out of the carb and the dual fuel feature. So far (knock on wood), I haven't ran into any of the issues brought up by other reviewers. Haven't had any problems with the spark arrestor or the O2 sensor, not even so far. The jet. It appears to come from the factory for the lowest elevation while I live at an elevation of almost 5000 feet and Ive ran it at over 6000 ft while it's only supposed to be good for up to 3 or 4000 ft with the jet that comes in it. I did order the 5 to 6000 ft jet but getting to the carb is a problem so let's just hope it works ok at almost 9000 ft in a few weeks. ... show more

  • Reliable, Quiet, and Well-Built Portable Generator
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
’ve been very pleased with this generator so far. The overall build quality is impressive, and it feels solid and well-made right out of the box. I’ve only run it on gasoline at this point, so I can’t comment on propane performance yet, but gasoline operation has been excellent. Starting has been consistently easy, and the generator has fired up reliably every time I’ve needed it. It also provides steady, consistent power without any noticeable fluctuations, which is exactly what you want from an inverter generator. Noise levels are reasonable as well. It’s not silent, of course, but it’s relatively quiet for a generator in this class and much less intrusive than many conventional generators I’ve used in the past. The portable design makes it easy to move around, and features like the fuel shutoff and CO Watchdog provide additional peace of mind. Overall, this has been a dependable, well-built generator that starts reliably, runs quietly, and delivers consistent power. Based on my experience so far, I would definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Wen, didn't run right out of the box
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
I bought this dual fuel generator April 2025, but recently got around to starting it up. Will not start on gasoline, but will run on propane. I did all the trouble shooting, called WEN customer tech, and we both agreed that the carburetor was the problem. Wen sent me a new carb, but i have to take it to a repair shop to have it fixed. I learned a lesson here, when you get an item that is gas or propane, start it up soon as you receive it to make sure it works and can return within 90 days. I went several months before I got around to use it. ... show more

  • Best Generator
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
I’ve used this generator a few times now. Usage time has varied from a few hours to a couple of days. I’ve had absolutely ZERO issues. Maintenance is relatively simple and the pull start is easy. Both of these matter to me due to arthritic hands. The noise level is surprisingly low. I live in a trailer park and running the generator overnight is not noticeable. The propane option is marvelous during large area blackouts where finding gasoline can be problematic. Overall, the more I use this generator, the more impressed I am with the design and operation. ... show more

  • Worth The Price
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
Heavier than I thought it would be. Weighs about the same as a 5 gallon jug of water. Seems well made and fired right up following the quick start instructions for propane. Haven’t tried gasoline yet. Features are well marked. Recoil cord pulls fairly easy. Pretty quiet but not noiseless. Much quieter than a full size gas generator. I ran it off a 20lb propane cylinder with the included regulator. After running about 45 minutes the cylinder seemed not to have lost much weight. Propane supplier says it can be attached to our 100lb tank with a gas grill set up for about $400. ... show more

  • Interesting purchase
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
So I purchased 2800w dual fuel in Nov 2025. Arrived quickly and in good condition. Box was clearly labeled dual fuel as well as the generator itself. Had a manual, oil, and a propane hose and regulator. There is a fuel selector knob on the side, as well as a selector switch on the panel for gas or propane. First problem was I noted that the selector switch on the side had no position label. Couldn’t tell if it was on, off, choke etc. Then I discovered there was no place to hook up the propane, and no selector switch on the panel. This was a brand new unit labeled and boxed as a dual fuel with dual fuel accessories, but apparently a gas only unit. I contacted Amazon for replacement but they said I had to go thru the seller to get it replaced. I contacted Wen, and they were very responsive. They said I had to contact the actual 3rd party seller. In researching who this was, the 3rd party seller was “Amazon warehouse”. So had to call Amazon back and explain everything again, and they finally sent me a new replacement unit and picked up the original. Amazon very responsive. The guy from Wen who I called originally was very interesting. I mentioned that this was probably a mixup at the factory, but he said probably not. He said whenever Wen gets a return for an item like this, they never attempt to repair or modify it, no matter how minor the issue. It goes straight to a 3rd party vendor who sorts thru them and repairs or repackages them and resells them as refurbished. He said sometimes unscrupulous vendors will take these kinds of products that have minor issues or missing parts, repackages them and sells back to Amazon as new units. His message was in some cases, new from Amazon may be refurbished. In any case, the generator itself is great. Starts easy, both on gas and propane, relatively quiet, and performs as advertised. You may have to pull a few extra pulls in propane mode until the propane gets thru the system, but no problem after that. And as mentioned both Amazon and Wen have great customer service. ... show more

Great combination of features. The versatility of duel fuel, relatively quiet and an inverter capable of use with sensitive electronics. This is a backup for my small remote off grid cabin. Arrived earlier than promised by UPS.

  • Wen 2800 duel fuel generator - great so far
Size: 2800W Dual Fuel + CO Alarm
I purchased the Wen 2800 watt dual fuel based strictly on specs as I wasn't able to find a single review here or anywhere else online about this particular model. I've now completed the 8-hour break-in period using propane only and so far it's been flawless. Starts up around the 3rd pull, runs smooth, all outlets and features work as expected, etc. Haven't yet exceeded a 50% load as required during the break-in, but no problems with output so far. Pleased with the noise level as well, it runs quieter than I had expected. So far so good! The only negative or drawback is that it's a bit bigger/bulkier and heavier than I imagined it'd be. 45 lbs isn't a lot for a gen, but living with a lower back injury a set of wheels and handle would've been appreciated to help move it around easier. Still for just over $400 it seems like a good deal for 2800 starting/2000 running watts on propane, which is a higher power output than most in its class. Overall happy with this purchase so far. ... show more
