Built with you in mind, our design makes wheel guard removal as simple as possible for easy wheel changes. The included eye guards can adjust to prevent them from interfering with your project while the flexible work light illuminates your workpiece during operation. Remember WEN. WEN 4288T Cast Iron Bench Grinder Pedestal Stand with Water Pot Remember when your bench grinder stayed put? As all woodworkers know, a grinder on a normal work surface often times jostles and skews the other items in a work area due to heavy vibrations created by the grinder. The WEN Bench Grinder Pedestal Stand resolves this issue by providing an independent surface for you to attach your tool. The heavy cast iron and steel design limits vibration while providing a sturdy 31.5 inch pedestal for your grinder to rest on. The stand includes a water pot for quenching workpieces and a reliable three-legged design with bolt holes for fastening your stand to the floor. The 9.9-by-12.4-inch cast-iron top is provided with slots and holes for securely mounting your bench grinder to the stand. And even though this stand was built with the WEN Bench Grinders in mind, its universal design accommodates the majority of bench grinders on the market. And because its a WEN Product. a stocked inventory of replacement parts, and a friendly customer help line, all to make sure you remember WEN.

  • "Effortless Mower Blade Sharpening
Style: 2021 Model Pattern Name: Grinder
I’ve been using the WEN BG4280 Bench Grinder for about six months now, and I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. The 5-amp motor delivers plenty of power, and it handles tough tasks like sharpening mower blades with ease—it powers through them effortlessly. The variable speed control is a fantastic feature, letting me adjust the RPM for precision work on different materials. The grinder feels solid and stable during use, with minimal vibration, and the flexible work light is a great touch for added visibility. The 8-inch grinding wheels have held up well over time and continue to perform like new. For the price, this bench grinder is an exceptional value, and it’s become an essential part of my workshop. Highly recommend it ... show more

  • A genuine bargain
Style: 2017 Model Pattern Name: Grinder
I will allow that some buyers may have received defective unit, which resulted in a negative review. However, with the exception of a few minor details, the unit I received was just fine. Right off the bat, except for a few small differences, this grinder seems to be the same one Grizzly sells for $160.00, plus $19.00 shipping. The differences are that the Grizzly has different wheel grits and does not come with either a dressing tool or an extra tool rest. Plus, the Grizzly owners manual is much better than the Wen. I don't mean to put Grizzly down here because their customer support is outstanding. But if money is tight, you CAN save $69.00 on Wen vrs the Grizzly, which would allow you to buy a couple of extra wheels and a diamond grit dressing tool if you want, Some buyers have complained that the light won't work unless the main power switch is turned on. Wen apparently has taken note of this because on the unit I received you can turn the light on whether or not the main power switch is turned on. Both wheels wobble side to side a very small amount. But this doesn't cause any noticeable vibration. I will eventually bolt the unit to a home made stand. Surprisingly however, the grinder I got runs so smoothly and is heavy enough that I can use it for the time being sitting directly on its rubber feet on my work bench. I had a definite reason for buying this grinder. I am just beginning to take up turning and got a great deal on a used Delta 1460 wood lathe. However I have found that a set of the best lathe chisels are going to run north of $350.00. I decided instead to buy this grinder and a set of HSS chisels from Harbor Freight for $64.00. The chisels are really quite nice except they are useless unless you sharpen them first. So now I have lathe chisels that work just fine, plus a dandy grinder - all for maybe half what a deluxe set of chisels would have cost. ... show more

  • Never had a wheel facing tool before
Style: 2017 Model Pattern Name: Grinder
I'm a hobbyist. But I put this thing through it's paces. In the past 5 years I went through 2 other grinders. I do a lot of different things so I change wheels often. The gray-left stone is for coarse grinding. The one on the right-white is fine and used for Sharpening drill bits, knives, mower blades and any other sharp edges tool. This doesn't use a dimmer switch type of speed control. It has a circuit board under the center of the unit. By the looks of it I'd say that it's a own regulator. When I'm Sharpening, and polishing the slower speed allows for better control of the project piece. I did install a new DeWalt 8 inch wire wheel on the left side and it stayed in balance. No chatter or jumping around. Mine is attached to a HF stand that I added casters to. I didn't lock the wheels and it did not move. I'm glad I made the switch to a different grinder. One thing, it's a lot heavier than the other ones. I always make a suggestion if appropriate. In this case. Tape off the bottom, BEFORE MOUNTING to prevent any metal shavings or particles from getting onto that board. There is also a slot in the front for a quenching tray. Keep the tray in place or cover it. I have 3M aluminum tape. It's the preferred method of sealing but 2 inch masking tape will work. ... show more

  • What a hunk of junk
Style: 2021 Model Pattern Name: Grinder
Well… another lesson in “You get what you pay for” school. I had previously bought a bench top drill press from Wen and it was fine enough with no major complaints, so I thought I’d try the bench grinder from them as well. But jeez, what a POS this thing is. Three main problems with this. First, the castings for the tool rests are so badly finished that you can’t properly lock them down. It looks like the holes drilled through them for the lock down bolts were crooked, so this doesn’t allow the cheap plastic hand knobs to seat properly and give you a good lock. This is UNSAFE. Second, the motor on this tool is so out of balance that it causes pretty severe vibration. Is it walking across the bench? Not quite. But pretty darn close! The vibration leads us to the third main issue: the integrated work light. Since the grinder is shaking so much, it causes the work light to rotate at the base of its gooseneck leading it to fall over onto the grinding wheel! I’d say that this qualifies as DANGEROUS. What a disappointment this tool is. Luckily, the return process is easy. So, back in the box it goes and back to the Amazon warehouse. Looking through the reviews, it seems like a lot of people got good machines. Maybe I just got a lemon. But it seems to me that it should be relatively easy in 2021 to manufacture such a rudimentary tool like a bench grinder to an acceptable degree of quality. Not for Wen apparently! This experience has me seriously looking at shelling out the extra money for a Baldor. Made in the USA and of a quality that should last a lifetime. Adios, Wen! ... show more
