  • Works like a charm!
My only bad experience with Wen has been their rotary tools, twice. Those were garbage, I now buy only Dremel. However this tool and the drill press I've now owned and used for years are flawless for anything I've used them for. I just finished off a wall cabinet with this sander (the same day it arrived!). The adjustments on the side sanding table are rock solid, as is the overall construction of the tool itself. The only question will be the motor over time. Changing out the belts on the main sander is insanely easy and quick. I ordered the steel base rather than cast iron for weight and portability, and it's square and solid. The only con is that you'd better silicone or liquid nail the rubber feet in place or you'll lose them! It's a great tool, and Wen has finally gotten the hang of it. And it's very simple to set up and put together. A shame the tariffs will start making them more expensive or unavailable, but it's going to happen regardless eventually. ... show more

  • Great quality
This machine as other WEN products is made of good quality and even though I gave it 1 star on light weight this is something I look for because it feels like a tool and not like a toy. The set up took me less than 5 minutes and comes handy when working with a lot of wood. The price is great compared to others ... show more

  • A good inexpensive belt sander
Style: 9-inch Disc w/ Stand Pattern Name: Disc Sander
This is a pretty good belt sander for the price. It should work well for home shop or light commercial use. It is not suitable for continuous use in a machine or fab shop. I noticed on mine after I mounted it on the included stand that the bolts that hold the motor to the cast base were not tight. I had to unbolt the sander from its base and move it a little to access the screws that hold the plate that covers the electrical connections -- and the motor mounting bolts -- to tighten the bolts. Check the motor mounting bolts prior to assembly. Assembly instructions OK but not great. You should probably plug the sander into a 20A branch circuit; 15A breakers may blow when the motor tries to start. Buy good quality replacement sanding belts, Norton or similar. Recommended for the price. Commercial belt sander/grinders run four times more at minimum. ... show more

  • It is ready to use right out of the box !!
Style: 9-inch Disc w/ Stand Pattern Name: Disc Sander
I’m sure there are more expensive models around, but I would put mine up against it anytime !!! A very nice addition to my workshop 👍👍

  • Simple sander
Style: 9-inch Disc w/ Stand Pattern Name: Disc Sander
This belt sander replaced a belt sander that had problems with the keyway on the motor loosening and comming off. So I went with this Wen belt sander because it was a direct drive. Less parts means less problems. I would rate this belt sander as a good value for the average home woodworker, and light commercial use. Anything bigger... a commercial model would be best. It does not bog down very much on most pieces of wood that I use. I think the minimum size for a belt sander is 6 by 48. I have smaller belt sanders that bog down. They don't match the speed and power of this belt sander. It took me about a hour to assemble the stand, and get the sander running. ... show more

  • Great sander!!
Arrived on time. Easy to put together by myself and I’m not very good at building. It works really well! I recommend also getting a higher grit sandpaper because it comes with 80. I bought an extra belt of 110 grit and it’s very easy to switch. It is a great price!

  • Great value
Fantastic value. Used this several times and it works great. The addition of the cleaner is awesome as it extends the life of the sanding discs.

  • Good value for the price.
Sometimes you come across products and the reviews are overwhelming negative, and you know right away that it is junk. But for every other product you will ever buy that has mixed reviews, the odds of getting a dud are possible. This sander has gotten mixed reviews with some people reporting a defective unit. I did not have that issue. As a matter of fact, I have completely abused mine since I got it 4 months ago, and it is still operating perfectly. I can concur with other reviewers that the little bevel table for the disc sander is basically junk, at least if you need to do any precision sanding. It is very flexible, and the miter thingy wobbles around in it's track. But, for the price, it is sufficient. I am pleased with mine. Edit: I think it is worth noting that the sander I own is the one pictured above. Every picture in the reviews section shows a different model... perhaps an older model? That model looks like it has a lot more plastic. My model is mostly metal. ... show more
