Review for the "NovelLife Mini Drill Press". I bought this small drill press to assist with building a wooden ship model of the "USS Constitution". I just finished drilling 96 holes with a 0.04mm drill bit and it did a phenomenal job. Normally, with drill bits this small, I use a manual hand drill or rotary tool but end up snapping and breaking numerous bits before I get the job done. Using a full/normal sized drill press for this type of precision work would have been near impossible. The drill press itself is very stable with no wobble nor is there any wobble in the bit; very precise! Just like a large drill press, it has adjustable height with a stop collar, smooth hand control to lower the drill rotary head, and a nice flat, smooth drilling platform surface. It also has a variable speed control on the power supply/box. The drill press has a nice weight to it so it's very stable and cannot easily tip over. Mine came well packaged and already assembled with nice, easy to follow user instructions. Ready to use out-of-the box. Well worth the money I spent! Glad I purchased it!

This is small so you can place it where you need it to get a great working view. The plastic covers are mostly FDM 3d printed but are done nice - very well cleaned up nylon. Now, i like others had concerns it will have run out or be mounted crooked. happy to say it is all affixed well and the parts are manufactured well. It tracks straight down with no axis deviation. Mine came fully assembled and well oiled, does not appear to be a return so maybe the recent batches are pre assembled - one less thing you have to do. Onto the drilling precision because thats the only thing that matters really - it is great. i needed something for 1- 4mm work and this is great. Big presses always have some run out which is a problem at those small size holes but this has virtually none. I was able to get precision into plastic down to 0.01-0.02mm which is absolutely impressive! for instance my big press has a run out of 0.1 and up to 0.3 if i get sloppy with the setup. If you need to work on anything that will rotate, this tolerance is night and day! The vise that comes with this is meh, get yourself a better one. The set screw for the height stop is 2.5mm hole but the included hex is 2.4mm so there is some potential for stripping there. use a 2.5mm all in all absolutely recommend it for small precision work. this is not for steel! not even for thick aluminum bars. i wouldnt go past 5mm t6 stock. the motor has a lot of power even at the lowest rpm so if you are having issues, you are drilling something in a way that should not be done on this.

This is a cheaply made toy drill press suitable for hobbyist use. The adjustments are by manual set screws and it is difficult to make precise adjustments. The stage vice is next to useless for making extremely fine adjustments and I ended up buying an adjustable microscope stage micrometer to adapt to the unit. The instructions are poor. All that said, I purchased this unit to make 36 0.6mm holes in precise orientation for a single project and, with the addition of the stage micrometer and newly purchased drill bits, it worked like a charm!

Rarely take the time to come leave a positive review, but I really enjoy this thing. My first drill press. Form factor is way smaller than I thought it would be; takes up a very small spot on my small workbench. I’m using it to mostly drill 1/4” steel and aluminum bars for very small (M2.5-M3 sized) holes in very precise locations before tapping (a few larger holes). This thing goes right through steel and aluminum—really impressed. I thought it would be janky and struggling but it churns right through it—and it’s very quiet. Honestly, it’s fun to use. The negatives, as others have pointed out, are the base you use to secure the thing you’re drilling is janky and occasionally annoying. Additionally, the collar to set the drill depth is finicky and the measurement gauge isn’t all that exact. But for DIY, or hobby usage, especially if you can move the part around rather than needing to adjust the base, it’s more than adequate. If they included a better base that could be more easily adjusted, this thing would be incredible. But as it is, I really enjoy it. Legit fun to use.

It goes through polymer clay like it's butter, and that's on the slowest setting. Very good at drilling holes in my cured beads too. I've had these thing made for years and have only put holes in a few (by hand). This machine got through all of them in no time at all! I also used it for sanding my pieces and it was so much easier than trying to wrestle with my cordless screwdriver. I know it wasn't really meant for what I'm doing, but it worked great and I was able to concentrate on holding my piece. It is very quiet too. I was able to listen to my music while working with no issues at all.
