Description

Our powerful 15-amp motor can slice through even the hardest of woods, providing 3800 blade rotations per minute. This versatile saw bevels and miters up to 45 degrees in either direction, with a front miter control for fast and easy adjustment. Cut boards up to 13 inches wide and 4.1 inches thick or make compound cuts (45 degree bevel and 45 degree miter) in boards up to 9.1 inches wide and 2.4 inches thick (1.3 inches thick when mitering right). The saw features 5 positive miter stops at 45 degrees, 30 degrees, 22.5 degrees, 15 degrees, and 0 degrees. If a more unique angle is preferred, the miter lock still allows the saw to lock at any angle between those stops. The onboard laser illuminates the line of cut for maximum accuracy, while the dust collection port allows for connection to either the included dust bag or your dust collection device of choice. This package includes a 48-tooth carbide-tipped blade with a 1-inch arbor (model BL1248), two adjustable support fences, one quick-clamp assembly, a dust port, a dust bag, and a carrying handle. Another great budget tool from Wen without sacrificing some of the bigger named, higher price point saws. I recommend a 0-clearance strip be added to the saw when you purchase it. The blade groove is wide and precut to be able to do 45-degree miters. Fo my purpose I won't be doing combination miters with this saw so I put a 0-clearance strip on the blade plate and the saw has plenty of power. I was breaking down lumber, 4/4 and 8/4 boards and this saw took them all, motor stayed cool, and cuts were very accurate. Side note - blade brake is not super-fast... that is my only issue but not worth dropping stars. ... show more

    • This is my unboxing and set up impression
Size: 10-Inch Single Bevel
First off, the saw came in a week earlier than indicated at the time of ordering. That was a big plus. The packaging was very good with everything easily accessible with no wasted expanded foam bits. The top half had the parts and screws, each in their own cavity. +5. Only thing missing was the 6mm hex wrench. -1 Assembly was relatively easy and straight forward. +5. However, the missing hex wrench made for some unnecessary gymnastics with my hex wrench set as there was barely room to engage the wrench in the cap screws. -1 Setup: First off, the torque on the blade bolt is WAY too high from the factory. I had to put a 12 in cheater on the hex wrench to break the bolt loose. And the instructions are unclear on where the handle up lock is (I never found it if there is one). After getting the blade off and installing my calibration blade I checked fence alignment, blade to fence square and blade to bed square. Fence alignment was excellent and the blade to fence squareness was good. However, vertical, or blade to bed, square was off by about 2.5 degrees, checked with both a carpenter’s square and a Wixey digital angle gauge. It took about 5 minutes to get that squared away (pun intended). First cuts: After getting everything set up, I used a piece of 1 x 3 to make both square and 45° miter cuts. Both were dead on. The sliding action is smooth with minimal efforts. The laser is right on the left edge of the cut line, which is perfect for me as a right handed user. A lefty will probably find the location inconvenient. Well, there you have it, my initial impression of the Wen MM1011T sliding miter saw. I’ll update this after a few hours of use to give the actual use impression. Update 8/28/2024 After 2 years of using this saw frequently, I do not have any regrets buying, and there are a few things you should be aware of if you are considering this saw. 1. The detects for miters are sloppy. Yes, you can make 45° cuts accurately, just don’t rely on the 45° detention to accurately set the saw at 45°. Same for 0° and 31.6°. I use drafting triangles for setting common angles. 2. Do not us for cutting dadoes. The saw does not traverse parallel to the table and I do not find any way to correct this, like you can for setting the fence perpendicular to the blade and the blade perpendicular to the table. 3. Make yourself a zero clearance fence. The supplied fence is ok, but the is a large gap where the blade passes through. As I said, I like the saw, but it does have quirks you need to be aware of. ... show more

I have slowly switched all my tools over to WEN over the years. I have some "higher quality" brands for other tools and honestly I can't tell a major difference. Maybe the fit and finish is nicer on versions that cost 2-3x what WEN does. If it is something that you are using for a hobby, I would highly recommend this saw or any WEN product. I like to use the Adam Savage approach to tool buying. Get the cheapest tool you can and learn with it until you need something more. I have yet to outgrow a WEN tool I bought and I have been using them for years. If you don't need a specific feature of a more expensive saw, get this one. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Only really reviewing this from the standpoint of upgrading from a cheap, non-sliding, Ryobi 7.25" miter saw, and WOW, this thing is amazing! If you have one of those cheap, standard saws that doesn't have positive angle stops, and has limited cutting capacity, this is going to improve your woodworking abilities significantly. This thing is absolutely stellar. Has an insane number of features for the price, and cuts super true/accurate. Only downside (if you want to look for one) is that it's a small footprint, and fairly light for a 10". You'll want to clamp/bolt it down, so it doesn't slide around on a smooth surface. I designed and 3D printed my own zero-clearance / minimal-clearance plates for it, which make it even just that little bit better :) ... show more

    • Nice for a cheap saw, but son’t expect the led to be useful.

Nearly unique sliding mechanism that is in front rather than extending to the rear, making it possible to mount near the wall. No electric brake. LED guide has an on-off switch, so it can be on without needing to trigger the saw. But it seems impossible to lock in place proper LED adjustment.

I am really happy with my new miter saw with the extended pull cut. The saw will handle all of your typical cuts that you use for a miter saw, and with the WEN table legs attachment it folds up and rolls away when I’m done and I love it.

I’ve had real good luck with WEN and this saw reflects the quality to price value that makes WEN a serious competitor to bigger name brands. I ordered my saw from Amazon almost a year a ago and it came relatively quickly and arrived in perfect condition. Setting up the saw was easy and straightforward. I always check the blade and fence with appropriate measuring tools and calibrate according to ny need. The saw has always held true to its setup after several cuts and it keeps it setting well after sitting and traveling between jobs. I’ve used the saw more days out of the year I’ve had it then days its been sitting in my shop and it hasn’t shown me any signs of degrading performance. I highly recommend this tool if you are looking for a budget friendly saw with versatile features and reliability that pros can count on for daily use. I would suggest investing in higher quality blades like Frued to get the best results. ... show more
