I really like the fish dry kibble for my dachshunds. They really like it too. Fish is the first ingredient and its all human grade food that goes into making all their foods. We've used this for a while and it was fine, but this bag was very 'dusty' with the kibble broken up like a car had run over it. It was a problem for our dog as it would get so compacted against the bowl, she couldn't bite it. Hope this doesn't happen again.

I have a miniature schnauzer and they can be susceptible to pancreatitis so I always look for less fat and more protein for her diet. Typically, I will mix it half and half with the Wellness Complete health.

Signed up for Subscribe & Save for two 4lb bags of Core Ocean High Protein with Whole Grains per month on 12/8/22 after buying one bag for $12.00 and being promised a slight discount on that price by subscribing. The price per bag was a few dollars cheaper than buying this food locally so it seemed worth it for the convenience. By the time my first subscription order shipped, the price had gone up slightly. That seemed okay since it was inline with marginal market increases for the product. However, when I logged in to check on the status of my second order today (1/22/22), it had shipped BUT the price is now $18.95 per bag. That's a 58% increase in just 6 weeks! I'm sorry to say that this strikes me as a bait and switch scam. I canceled my subscription and will buy locally only until I can find another brand that works for my pet. I'm prepared to pay for a premium dog food. I mix this high protein food with another premium food for skin sensitivities to maintain my dog's weight while also managing her allergies. I guess I'm confused, but reading what some other people had to say about their dogs not eating it...maybe I have my answer?? I'm new to owning a dog & didn't know that you had to mix the old in with the new, I just assumed at first she hated this food. (Yes, I eventually did that) Well, we've gone through moments where she's eating an entire serving of this by itself, then...not so much. I mix it with some Blue Buffalo wet food & it's sometimes she'll eat it, but most of the time she will literally eat the wet food off the kibble & leave the kibble on the floor, napkin. (whatever I'm feeding her on) I dont wanna say bad stuff about the food bcuz I'm just not sure! See, my roommates have 3 other dogs whom they free feed (I don't agree, but they aren't my dog's) and unfortunately she'll graze on that adult food (which shes familiar with) and I can do NOTHING about it, except move here away & feel guilty that I may be giving her anxiety about food. Ok, ok, I'll bring my rambling to an end by saying - perhaps if other ppl are having issues with their dogs not eating it, 🤷 maybe she just doesn't like it? Perhaps, I have consequently spoiled her with wet food? Then again, their (not as "supposedly" high quality food) is kibble... Our puppy is 3 months old and we switched to this from the grain-free version of the same brand based on vet recommendation. They said grain-free causes a heart condition later in life. So of course we don’t want that! He started having diarrhea and it lasted almost two weeks. $200 later in vet bills trying to calm it down, we switched back to grain-free and he started having solid poops again. So just be super wary about this food. We might have a pup with sensitivity to grains or this specific grain. He has no problem with plain white rice either. ... show more
