Does NOT Fit Craftsman 20V CMCST910M1 String Trimmer

This appeared to be a great product and I was excited to try it... however, while the description lists Craftsman 20v on the electric trimmer list, the Craftsman 20v model # CMCST910M1 is not compatible as the trimmer head is not removable. I did not know this before I ordered (who tries to remove a trimmer head for no reason, right?) so I ended up returning it. I think it would have worked well though. The blades looked sharp and I'm sure they're easier to replace than the string on my trimmer. It was fairly light weight and the trimmer head and extra blades I bought were a good value considering all the string I waste trying to get my trimmer to work.

Works great on my Echo SRM 225

I was replacing an old head that had a similar bladed design but required disassembly to replace any worn blades. This one is fantastic. The blades take a beating before needing replaced and when that time comes they swap out with relative ease. The head itself goes on as easily as any other head. Durability is about par for the course with other types that I have tried but the ease of swapping the blades out when they are worn is what makes this thing really shine. Cutting power is about even with other blades as well. It goes through twig-sized growth with ease and can be used to cut weeds out of the ground and destroy some of their roots. Of course, as with any attachment like this, be careful in areas near things you don't want destroyed. This thing can grab and run away a bit and can be tough to keep from running at least a few inches when it grabs. Especially if you are revving at full power. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and recommend this attachment to anyone with a robust weed whacker that has some bigger brush they want to get through.

Cuts heavy weeds with ease but won't fit certain Stihl trimmers

I had gotten by with a small Homelite string trimmer and a Stihl FS250 brush saw for all my needs for years. But recently some new kinds of weeds have been cropping up that are too heavy and stiff for the string trimmer, and which like to come up along woven-wire fence lines where I don't want to use the brush saw. The Weed Warrior is just the right tool for this job, being robust enough for very stiff weeds but still not destructive of steel fence wire. There's one general caveat: I've seen reviews that point out that this tool will shatter on contact with hard objects. I suspect that's true, but if you've got a trimmer that has good speed control (some don't) and you use only enough speed to cut the weeds, you can avoid breaking the blades. I've hit quite a lot of steel and stone with mine and have cut a lot of heavy weeds among these obstacles without breaking a blade. I was disappointed, however, to find that the Stihl FS250 is not among the 99% that the Weed Warrior will fit. (I like this straight-shaft trimmer because I can reach far under very large weeds.) The FS250 needs an M10x1.0 left-hand-thread nut, which is not among those included. I ended up cutting away much of the internal structure of my Weed Warrior with a hole saw (significantly weakening it in the process) so that it would fit the larger original Stihl nut. It was with this arrangement that I managed to get one full season of careful operation until it finally (justifiably) flew apart this morning. Today I'm ordering a new Weed Warrior, and I intend to drill and retap one of the supplied Weed Warrier nuts to fit the Stihl M10x1 shaft.

Best Alternative I've tried.

I had one of these for many years that I had worn out so I figured I would try a different style, and found one that had wire twisted brushes at the tips, and because it was metal I assumed it would be better.. strangely it was way less effective, and I switched back to this just because it works so well. You will want to buy a pack of blade replacements, as you will likely run through them if you're hitting anything more than grass, but after years with this and trying to few others, this is really the best alternative I found. I'm using this on a greenworks electronic weed eater.

Does what it says with a few caveats

It does cut grass and thicker weeds, but.. I think this is almost exclusively better at the bigger stuff, but not too big. I was able to knock down some tough weeds in my ditch with ease. However, using it on some small saplings didn't fare as well. Sure it was thicker, but I figured this would get it anyway - nope, trying this caused it to throw one of the blades which caused the whole thing to go off balance. Ended up having to use the replacements that came with it on my first use! I will say that changing the blades was incredibly easy, but not as easy as string line. I also found that trying to do real edging near my flower beds and home was not exactly great with this. The head loves to catch on things and kick back at you whenever possible, seriously wear foot protection. It also has a nasty habit of getting so caught that it nearly stops entirely, once actually killing the motor. I worry that it will strip itself on the bolt and be a huge pain to remove if I ever need to. The grass it trimmed was fine, but it likes to get caught and drag itself into the grass causing bare or shorter spots. Also was difficult to get into corners. I think this has its place, but it's not generally what I need around my house. It's easy to change the blades, sure, but they're not nearly as available everywhere as string line. Think it's just easier and simpler that way. Oh and finally, the thing is really heavy so I felt like I was on full throttle almost the whole time using it. Definitely not for electric trimmers, but almost too much for a 25cc as well. I'll probably buy a string head when I break my last set of blades (which will probably be the next time I use it).

Easy to install, works good

Comes with a good selection of mounting hardware. The nut marked 'B' was what fit my Honda HHT35S trimmer with a M10x1.25 LH thread. I elected NOT to use the washer between the head and spacer as the instructions suggest, it just didn't make sense in this particular install. THe Honda spacer is splined to the shaft and thus must turn with the shaft. But... There is a chance of the head slipping on the spacer and 'friction welding' the plastic head to the spacer, I don't concider this to be a bad thing, you make your own choices. The original set of blades did a fine job for an hour or so of cutting grass and small blackberry shoots. Then I got into some blackberry shoots about the size of my thumb. The blades shattered at that point. I have another blade system that's made of steel that I'll install to attack the larger blackberries. Blades are very easy to change once you figure out how to do it.

I have a Stihl FS240 brush cutter. I really like this brush cutter head. I have a lot of light brush, including some small alders and willows, to cut around my house with many rocks and large pieces of wood hidden in the brush. In the past I used a metal cutting blade. By the time I finished I was always unable to avoid hitting some of the rocks; so, the blade would always have many small dings requiring me to sharpen it after each use. I have used it for at lest 10-12 hours, and have cut a large amount of the brush. This has really worked well. I have only had to replace one of the cutter blades after striking a large tree. The blade was very easy to change. I have cut many of the small willows and alders without any problem and the blades have hardly any wear on them. The only downside of the item is that the metal washer that came with it had too small of a hole to fit over the shaft the cutter attaches to. I fortunately had some washers with a larger hole and was able to get the head attached. I am very happy with this cutter and it has worked as advertised and has prevented me from having to keep sharpening my metal blade. I highly recommend it.
