weBoost Drive Sleek (Model 470135) – Actually Works & Worth It Alright, I’ll be honest—I was skeptical about this thing at first. I drive a lot for work, and there are plenty of areas where my cell signal just sucks. Dropped calls, slow data, GPS freezing—it’s frustrating. I figured I’d give the weBoost Drive Sleek a shot, and after using it for a while, I can confidently say it actually works. What I Like ✅ Noticeable Signal Boost – I won’t pretend this gives you full bars in the middle of nowhere, but it definitely helps. In areas where I’d normally have one bar or struggle to load a webpage, I’m now seeing 3-4 bars, and calls are way clearer. Even in places where I’d usually drop a call, I can now hold a conversation without issue. ✅ Super Easy to Set Up – No complicated installation. Just: • Stick the tiny magnetic antenna on the roof. • Plug it into the cigarette lighter (12V power port). • Slide my phone into the cradle, and it starts boosting instantly. ✅ Works with All Carriers – I use AT&T, but my buddy has Verizon, and it worked for him too when he borrowed it. As long as there’s some signal to work with, it makes a real difference. ✅ Smoother GPS & Streaming – Before, my GPS would lag in bad coverage areas, and music would randomly stop buffering. Now, everything runs smoother, and I don’t have to worry about losing my way on long drives. What You Should Know ⚠️ One Phone at a Time – Your phone has to sit in the cradle to get the boost. If you need something that covers the whole car for multiple phones, you’ll need a bigger (and more expensive) setup. ⚠️ Doesn’t Work in a Dead Zone – If you’re in a spot with absolutely no signal, this won’t magically create one. But if you have at least one bar, it’ll boost the heck out of it. ⚠️ Needs to Stay Plugged In – It only works while your car is on and plugged into power. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Final Verdict – Worth It? 100% yes—as long as you understand what it does. It won’t give you full bars everywhere, but if you deal with weak or spotty service, it makes a huge difference. Verizon is my carrier. Despite living in the middle of a city, cell service at my home is weak due to hilly topography. I did a test run at my home and the Drive Sleek did nothing to improve the signal. However, I really purchased it to use while camping so I could have some flexibility with the frequent meetings and emergency contacts that are a part of my job. At the first campground where I tried it, my phone by itself had 1 bar of LTE and would hunt between that and 3G and 1X signals. The Drive Sleek gave me 3 bars of LTE, voice quality that mostly didn't fade out, but NO DATA. Mind you, I was in a stationary position for the week, so any voice dropouts at all were due to the Drive Sleek. The no data thing was a severe problem and Verizon wasn't able to solve it. Not amused. At the second campground where I tried the Drive Sleek, I had one bar of LTE without the booster, even with the iPhone in a magnetic case. With the booster, I had NO SIGNAL AT ALL (magnetic case removed). Adjusting the position of the antenna (rotating various directions, putting it on top of my trailer, suspending it from a tree branch, etc.) made no difference. When I got home, I made arrangements for its return. Be aware that you have to "hide" the booster cradle from the antenna or they will interfere with each other. This is true of all boosters and not a flaw with this product. Wilson supplies a generous length of cable - maybe 25 feet or so. I used the full cable length - the antenna perched on top of my trailer and the booster sitting on the picnic table, but best results were achieved when I "hid" the booster cradle from the antenna by placing the cradle behind the open lid of my metal camp stove. Wilson warns you about this in the installation instructions. The antenna cannot be placed near a sunroof. The metal roof on your car must act as a radio frequency sheild between the antenna and the cradle. While not all of us are fortunate enough to have a Volvo XC 60 or XC 90, be aware that this kit won't work with those cars. The sunroof on those vehicles runs the full length of the SUV, leaving you no place to put the antenna. Wish I'd known that before purchasing or I wouldn't have bought it at all.

This booster just boosts the signal from the cell tower to your phone which needs to be in the phone cradle. We use it primarily for data when in remote areas. This allows us to do Google Maps to get directions or find a restaurant. It seems to add almost one bar to the signal when it is turned on, so can use the internet in places in places we couldn't before. It doesn't do miracles. There still needs to be a cell signal. Discovered that when at a campground, that even though the signal was boosted enough to be usable, that the internet was still slow. Learned a lesson that prepaid phone plans get throttled when lots of people are using internet. Did have a problem when the outside antenna got damaged, I ordered a replacement antenna choosing one from the list in the back of the manual. Unfortunately though it looked identical, it had the wrong connector (SMA male). Went to weboost.com and used the online chat. They said the antennas are not available separately for the weboost which didn't make sense since there are a bunch listed in the manual. Anyway they are sending me one as a courtesy, but currently are back-ordered. Still I urgently needed an antenna for trip. Found an SMA female to SMB plug adapter on Amazon that I was able to get quickly. It's working great and ready for the trip. Pros: - after connecting the cables and powering on, there is no need to configure - it just works. - can move between vehicles. - great support from weBoost. Cons: - the light on the cell phone cradle is bright and very annoying at night *** Big warning *** be careful to remove outside antenna before going through a car wash!

Most of the time it works well but there were times it gave no improvement or actually lowered the signal. Just finished a 6 week 8,000 mile trip across the country in my RV and used this device in a large number of remote western camping locations. I camped off-grid mostly away from cell towers in 'boondocking' situations. I used it when stationary - with my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone and my Verizon 791 Hotspot so I could surf the net and make phone calls. I got so-so results with the factory antenna but that's because my RV rig is mostly fiberglass so I had a minimal "ground plane" (which I believe the stock antenna needs a large metal surface). I only had a small metal surface. Anyways - I was able to get much better results using the SureCall SC-288W Omni-Directional antenna I mounted to the top of my RV roof ladder. I also have a 10dbi directional Yagi antenna mounted to a Home Depot 18' painters telescoping pole which I was forced to use when I was more than 10 miles from a cell tower. That worked fantastic! I just ty-wrapped the painters pole to my RV rooftop ladder and carefully aimed the Yagi antenna until the signal was strongest. BTW: the external antenna and amp uses SMB RF coaxial adapter. So I had to order SMA to SMB RF coaxial adapters to get it to work with my SureCall and Yagi antennas.

The product works for its intended use. It does boost signal if you have it, usually one and sometimes two bars. Even if it isn’t showing a one bar boost always, internet works faster. I tested this along with the Drive Reach. Many times they seemed to provide the same boost, sometimes this unit seemed to do slightly better or worse than the $500 unit. My major qualm is that while the build quality is better than some Chinese product, it’s not good enough for $200. I used the product once and the rubber around one of the cords already cracked. Also I drove on one moderately rough gravel road and the vent mounter phone case/holder fell off. I was able to get it back on but if you’re talking about a product that is intended to be in a car off the beaten path, it needs to be better for $200, especially considering the fact that nowadays cell towers are almost everywhere. That’s a note, at least I’m California there were only several spots I even needed this machine, even considering I was in the mountains. There were still spots neither Drive Sleek or Drive Reach worked. When it did work, what it meant was that I didn’t have to drive five minutes to a spot where my cell worked without this machine. So I would say if I needed it for work or for a demanding wife or kids on camping trips, it may be of some utility. But for me, this is a luxury item. I can camp and have phone in Spot X instead of having to drive 5 minutes to Spot Y down the road where I will have signal even without this device. So for me the build quality wasn’t high enough to justify the price tag for this luxury. It’s definitely worth $50- maybe $100 at most for me. The positive note is that while the build quality on the $500 unit is much better, I found the function of the two devices on 4G and 5G to be essentially the same. You still usually need to have the device very close to the receiver on the Drive Reach, so it’s basically the same product except the cell phone holder (while not excellent) is still helpful to keep the phone near the booster.

I don't often write reviews but I had to for this product. I live in Colorado and do a lot of driving for work. As anyone who lives in Colorado knows, trying to hold a conversation while driving can be incredibly frustrating due to weak or lost signals. I finally had enough and decided to cough up the money for this booster. The good: it will boost my signal by at least a bar and will give me a signal where I would typically not have a signal (except for the deep mountain back country). The cradle and mount are super handy for handsfree talking and video calls. The not so good: It takes some trial and error to get the cords placed so you don't trip over them getting in and out of the car. The cradle doesn't work if you have one of those popout grip things on your phone. If you normally get 1 or 2 bars, expect to get 2 or 3 bars in most cases...at first I was expecting 5 bars, everywhere, all the time. The amazing: Customer service is incredible! Friendly, fast phone support and the warrant is legit. I've had two replacement parts sent to me totally free of charge, one replacement was processed just today and I'm two years into product ownership! Highly recommend if you iive in a crappy service area or travel to rural/mountain areas.

The Good: I travel to Eastern Washington for hunting several times a year. Before using the Weboost there was a stretch of country highway where I did not have any phone coverage about 70 miles long. When I attached my smartphone to the Weboost cradle I not only had phone coverage but 2-3 bars of 4G as well. I was able to listen to Amazon music all the way. Yes, this product works great as long as there is signal to boost. The not so Good (but manageable): I connected the cradle using the provided heater vent attachment device. Halfway through my trip the phone cradle slipped off the heater vent attachment and when I investigated why I found that the glue holding the metal disk to the back of the cradle had gotten soft from the heat and lost its cohesion. I stopped at a truck stop and bought a tube of two part epoxy and epoxied the metal disk back onto the cradle. After this fix I had no more problems and the unit worked as designed. (Note: The metal disk is used to attach the cradle to the magnet on the heater vent attachment). See the pictures I attached to this review. Overall, I was very pleased with the performance of this product and VERY happy to get 4G at my cabin where before I had none. When I bring my kids over I plan to use my phone as a hotspot so they can connect to my wifi.

I had one of these a long time ago before this company took over and started making them. I used to use it for 3G and it worked great. So I decided to upgrade to the 4G and 5G model phone booster. My older one works better. This one doesn't seem to boost the signal. But I am going to test it out in a couple different ways just to double-check. I don't like spending a lot of money on something that doesn't work or is not built as well. They've changed the connections to make it so you have to use just their stuff which now it's not as compatible for what I like to use it for. I'm going to try to check it to see how much it's actually boosting signal if it is at all. I will re review this after I've tested it more. Unless I've gotten a bad one. One of the things that bothered me the most is how it was packaged. There was no padding in the box. So the product could slide back and forth and slam against the box if they dropped it. So I am very upset and disappointed and the lack of padding and packaging. I hope somebody gets this and understands. If you're going to send something so it doesn't break please put some kind of paper or padding in the box to stop from getting damaged. If this package is damaged there will be in another shipping charge to send it back. Not smart business. Not very happy. Concerned customer.
