    • My business loves our Coolpo!
I bought one of these roughly 4 years ago for my HOA management business to use for hybrid meetings. A community manager takes it with them, plugs in the power cord and the USB into their laptop and it works. It hasn't been taken care of as well as it should be, as people just throw it on a car seat or whatever, without it being in a dedicated bag or case, yet it still works great! As some other have noted, sometimes it takes a second or two for it to recognize a person is talking and focusing on them, but most of the time it works flawlessly. We have even used it in large annual meetings with 50+ people in the room, and while it doesn't necessarily zoom in on a person on the 5th row, it does pick up their audio pretty well. ... show more

Before the introduction of the CoolPo system, each attendee of the meeting needed to bring their laptop into the meeting to be seen. This required I.T. support, due to some attendees forgetting their a/c adapters, or they could not get connected to the network, the list could go on. Vision for remote working is that I would like for each of our 12 remote Production and Research sites to have a CoolPo system. This would allow for each site to join as individual teams but be in attendance as one group at our corporate office. AgReliant Genetics’ Officer Committee can conduct meetings with a single laptop and be presented to all employees. I expected the CoolPo camera to capture the meeting room attendees and provide good audio and video. CoolPo not only met my expectations, but it also absolutely exceeded them. The video quality is very good and captures attendees from as far as 15 feet away. The audio side of the CoolPo is surprisingly good. The mics pick up well, and the speakers provide a good clear sound. My only concern is when the speaker volume is turned up more than 70%, the quality does start to drop. I believe that a control panel for the speaker output would greatly improve the quality at higher levels, or even to have an external speaker port to enhance the sound. CoolPo’s ability to recognize attendees is fantastic! I currently have 2 of the high-end Logitech conference room systems, and all that have used both, prefer the CoolPo system. ... show more

Build quality seems nice. But, plenty room for user experience improvement. One crazy fish-eye camera creates video "hot spots" around our table where people appear exaduratedly bigger or smaller based on proximity. So a rectangle table like we have creates a bit of visual oddity. Multiple cameras would do a better job minimizing this phenomenon. It uses that weird super microUSB from like 2012 that never caught on. Not an issue, but dates the technology a bit. Type-C using Thunderbolt would be more future proof... We also found the software to adjust the CoolPo difficult to download. Won't even run on any Mac lower than Catalina, or some versions of Windows, but we got over that hurdle. Once in conference, it seems the camera's logic software could use work! We have 7 people in the room around a long rectangular table and 4 online. The camera seems to snap-pan between speakers in the room WAY too often, leaving our online people with that seasick feeling! But they got used to it after a while and didn't mind it by the end of our meeting. The mic seems a bit too sensitive as it also would snap-pan to non-speakers occasionally, probably responding to an echo in the room. I wish the software would video face identify people in the room, and then just produce or dismiss speaker 'video bubbles' in the camera stream, rather than panning so frequently to wherever noise is coming from. Bottom line, $600 is still a lot to spend on something that our users found to be a bit of an acquired taste, but I still beleive its the best option right now, especially if CoolPo improves the cameras logic! Also at 50-60% the price of an Owl, it's a pretty compelling price point. I just wonder if the Owl really is $400 better... Hope our experience helps. ... show more

    • Truly a Great Plug and Play Camera
So this camera is very comparable to a more expensive brand. Even kind of looks like it. I was going to buy that one, but I decided to roll the dice on this guy. I’ll be honest I really am not that technical so when you watch my video it’s just more of us really using it so you can kind of see how it functions as far as the technical aspects of it. I’ll let you go through and read the specs on your own. I felt it was really intuitive and cool, I like how it tracks you. I could imagine that if you had this set up in the middle of my set up, I have a 49 inch monitor. You set that up in the middle and followed you for like a professor or something like that if you if you did like a web lecture, this thing would be awesome , my friend raised a very good point. It would be very good for medical conferencing so that if you had multiple professional sitting at the same table, you could see them all at the same time, but the camera would focus on them when they were speaking lots of uses really cool so check it out.     • Nice product, but it was a little flaky on the first run.
I was looking for a conference room solution that would be plugged into the docking station with a monitor and power. The problem was it didn't work right away, required some messing around with laptop to get it working. That's fine for some applications, but in this case it needs to work the first time, every time for the conference room users who pop in as the meeting starts. So, we returned it and opted for the IPEVO Totem 360, Panoramic 360-Degree Conference Camera. Happy so far. When I did get the COOLPO fired up, the picture was good (the IPEVO Totem 360 AI and picture is better) and the sound was great (better than the IPEVO Totem 360). ... show more

Great product, outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, our AI Huddle Pans was knocked over and hit the floor cracking the lens. I contacted Coolpo which advised that the unit was out of the warranty period and drops were not covered but they still wanted to help. The are sending us a replacement unit. Hoped for a semipro version of the owl for home use. Worked ok on arrival but dead after very few (<5) uses. Amazon support does not link to actual support but only troubleshooting. Searched for the manufacturer's support and emailed: no response.
