I have an ASUS portable monitor that has a 1/4 inch connector on the back. The stock stand that it came with was very frustrating as it wasn’t very secure (the connection cable plugs in on the left side of the monitor and would cause the monitor to tilt) and the footprint of the stand was very big/took up a lot of desk space. I was looking for a arm that would connect to my monitor and would clamp to the desk and be sturdy. After reading a lot of reviews I decided to try the KDD Webcam mount. The product arrived quickly and was well packaged with clear instructions for assembly. After setting it up, my monitor doesn’t tilt any more and I have freed up a lot of desk space. My only caution is that it takes a lot of finesse to get positioned correctly. Having a second person/second set of hands if very helpful. Once positioned, however, and with all the locking screws tightened, it works well with no drooping, wobbling or tilting. Exactly what I hoped for. My girlfriend is impressed enough that she is buying one for her portable monitor, also. ... show more

I use this specifically for playing Magic the Gathering on Spelltable and it works great. I have a digital camera that it screwed into, but there is also the nice clip for a cell phone or other device. You can loosen and tighten the arm to make adjustments. If you are going to be making a lot of adjustments than I would probably steer you towards something with a little more flexibility since the “loosening of this joint, and tightening of that joint” may get annoying. Since I typically keep mine the same height I am pleased. It attached to my table perfectly, but if you have a tapered edge, or something not completely flat it may not work as well. ... show more

Things that I like about this product: -Easy to set-up and move. Even though I work from home and have an office space/desk, sometimes I need to move my camera. It is easy to release it from my desk and move it to where it needs to be. Also, the little rubber cushions are great, there hasn't been any damage to any surface I clamp this on. -Before I purchased this, I rested my webcam on my laptop and it would move or slide down. All in all, not a stable solution. Now, with this arm, once I set my camera angle, it. does. not. move. It's reliable and stable. Things that I struggle with: -I have a difficult time getting it set-up. With 2 articulating parts, I have to adjust them individually and together to get the right location. Fortunately, my webcam also has 2 hinges, which means I can fine-tune my set up with the camera. And I found the sweet spot that works for me, it just took a while and some playing around with what worked. ... show more

    • Slightly Flimsy but Overall Good Quality
The multiple joints that the arm has make it very easy to customize how you want the end angle to be but the tube thickness that is used is slightly on the skinnier end. If you are going to be mounting a small DSLR, webcam, or phone this is worth the buy.

Extremely happy with this purchase. It’s exactly what I needed and at a great price. I have a fairly deep desk at 36” so I was concerned the “reach” of this arm wasn’t going to be enough, but it’s plenty long enough. Holds my webcam perfectly using the included ballhead. I tried a number of different positions and adjustments to get the angle I wanted, and this arm accommodated every option for me. The clamp is sturdy and the adjustable pivot points all hold really well. No cable management but a few velcro straps holds my cable down just fine. The only downside to this type of arm is that it isn’t adjustable “on the fly”. You need to adjust everything and set it where you want, and that’s where it stays. No real option to swing the arm up/down or side to side without first loosening the hinges. But I didn’t want something I could move around anyway. Wanted to position my camera appropriately for meetings and leave it where it is. So overall, great quality, highly recommend. ... show more

Great design cheap materials. One use an the top insert screw shows signs of stripping. An issue i deal with often unfortunately. Amazon needs a premium or better yet a made in America filter. The metals im getting is cheap basically particle board to actual wood. I would gladly pay more for the same product made with industrial American steel. Unfortunately the rating system is broken an just having a higher price is absolutely no indication the product is better or even a different product but the same under a different branding. Im going to be cautious when handling to try an preserve this product but im not confident i wont be in the market for a replacement within a few months. ... show more

    • Really sturdy and easy
I found this to be very sturdy and easy to use. If you need to constantly change the position this may not be for you. I set it to hold my webcam and can easily swivel it around and no other changes needed. Moving the arm positions up down to often is clunky but that is because of the way the arms are locked so securely. I think the solid locking is worth a little hassle ... show more

    • Perfect for Phone Mount
The mount works very well for holding my phone stable while using it to scan MtG cards. I will most likely use this as a webcam mount as well. My only complaint is that I wish the clamp had a little more depth to attach it farther into my desk top. My desk has a small lip on the bottom so I can't quite get the bottom of the clamp fully under, so the ability to put the clamp on far enough to reach that lip would be good. Otherwise, it's very stable and all of the attachments work very well for positioning the phone exactly where I need it. ... show more
