I bought this to use as a pressing mat. I searched for a 100% wool saddle pad and in the questions there was an answer that it was 100% wool. Sadly, I do not believe it is. The very first time I pressed some of my quilt pieces on it, I got a layer of gunk coated on my iron. Also, there is a terrible odor when pressing. I would not recommend it for a pressing mat. Nice pad liner, we used under a wool blanket for a wide, flat backed horse. Love that it is wool for a good price. We try to always use wool on our horses, they just seem to be more comfortable in wool than synthetic materials.
