About a year ago, I put up a 12 small solar accent lights, one above the center of each of 12 10' fence panels. At first, I thought they looked great. But as time went by, not so much. I set them on white, but early one, one decided to turn itself red, and refused to change. For the 4th of July, I alternated their color setting red and blue, so the one stuck on red briefly looked good. But it never would go back to white. And then a second one just quite working. Water got inside, and rusted everything mental. Not repairable. Then other began to get dim at different rates. At the same time, their big exposed clear lenses got dull and cloudy. And overall, it began to look pretty bad. Plus these only had a single LED for white, one other for the color combos. Nice looking, but never very bright, and small 1.5v 150ma batteries. So began the search for replacements. I saw these, and after noticing they used multiple LEDs for much better lighting, I decided to give them a try. They also have a larger better quality solar panel, and a bigger battery. Although 600ma didn't at first sound very big to support six LEDs, it turns out that is a 3.7V cell. And that is essentially 10X the total power storage of 1.5v @ 150ma. And that would be and upgrade. They also didn't have the big bottom lens to get cloudy, which instead is flush up under a lip, and a sloped top that should shed rain better. I decided to do some "pre-testing" with them, just to see if they were going to be good replacements, and live up to the pictures in the ad. And I can tell you, they look way better and way brighter. And they also are easier to switch colors on. Give mine are mounted upwards of 16' in the air, and that I like changing the colors for different special days (red/blue for US, orange for Halloween, red/green for Christmas), I like making that job as easy as possible. But mostly I'm pleased to have six bright LEDs as opposed to one on at a time. It remains to be seen if a 3.7v @600ma battery will keep them on all night. Especially if it is an overcast or rainy day. But as long as they make it past 3am and maybe not dawn, that's fine. It is just for looks, not security lighting. I do hope they don't leak water inside. The backs are a tight fit with four screws, but no rubber gasket. Just plastic panel to plastic recessed lip. Given that the back is vertical, probably it will do OK. If not, maybe next year I will be back replacing these again. But I can say these are much better made than what I previously had. And much brighter, and easier to switch colors. Given a price of under $6/each, and these features, at this point I think these are going to be a good upgrade.

With just 6-8 hours of charge time, these lights can illuminate your outdoor space for up to 12 hours at night. These are impressive figures for outdoor solar lights. Try to use any solar cell outdoor light where it can get as much sunlight as possible. KEEP IN MIND: Single colors, such as red, blue, or green, use less energy than white. For the MATH: RGB LEDs use 20ma per color. White uses 60ma because it uses all three colors. This light has white LEDs incorporated into the RGB, which is great! Other colors use from 20ma to 40ma depending on the color chosen. I do not like putting holes in my PVC fence, especially if the device ever needs to be replaced. Unless I have to support something heavy and permanent, I choose not to use screws and make holes that could be left over. Too often, the leftover holes are just plain ugly. I use double-sided outdoor tape instead of screws for mounting almost everything, including these lights, on many surfaces. The plus side is the tape comes off CLEAN even after years of exposure. The dual lighting modes—white and RGB color changing—offer additional flexibility. You can set a serene, uniform look with the cool white option or switch to the vibrant RGB mode to create a dynamic atmosphere. Fantastic for holiday lights. 4th of July? Red, White, and Blue! Living in the northern part of the country, no, we do not sit outside in cool or cold weather. Waterproof and designed for the rigors of outdoor use, these solar-powered deck lights are built to withstand various weather conditions, ensuring reliable performance year-round. I got these solar lights specifically to illuminate several areas in my backyard. I have a deck that has a step up, so I mounted a few of these lights on that stair to help light the step for safety. I like that the operation is very simple, just clicking a button to do on/off and also to cycle through the colors and functions. Once you set the light to the color you like, it will return to that when they turn back on the following evening. I thought it was clever that it came with a little card that showed where you should put the screws so it made mounting them very easy. So far these are great, they charge up fast, and it seems the charge lasts long time because they are still glowing when I am heading to bed. I think it will be nice during different holidays or parties to easily be able to switch the color on the lights.

Colors are nice, but the light extends to only 1 inch on either side and maybe 6 inches max below the unit. The pictures in the description showing light several inches to each side and a few feet below the units are way over exaggerated.
