WC’s Mod Kit A50 (cooling gel earpads + headband) is a strong comfort and durability upgrade for Astro A50 users, but it slightly changes sound and isolation compared to stock, so it’s best if your priority is long-session comfort over “pure” factory tuning. Comfort and Cooling The cooling gel “FreeZe” style pads use dual-layer gel plus memory foam and a hybrid leather/sports fabric, which helps ears stay cooler and reduces pressure during long gaming sessions compared with the stock A50 pads. Many A50 and A50X owners report that Wicked Cushions pads and headbands are a “night and day” comfort upgrade, especially if the stock band starts digging into the top of the head or if you’re bald/shaved. The headband in this kit is thicker, uses denser foam with PU leather, and is designed to spread weight better, so top-of-head hotspots are much less of an issue. PROS COMFORT- These are pretty comfortable the cooling gel works great u notice it right away after coming from the original mesh pads that the a50 comes with. The memory foam on the headband is ultra soft and easy to switch out. CONS SOUND- the sound does get lowered since they are more plush and a thicker fabric but all u have to do is simply turn the volume up I’ve seen a few complaints about this i don’t really get it since the a50s can get really loud BUILD QUALITY- the magnets on the wicked cushions are noticeable weaker than the originals and the top of headband feels really cheap I prefer the glossy finish on the originals. My biggest gripe with these is when I’m done using them I have to find the sweet spot to connect them to the base station the problem is the ear cups slightly overlaps with each other but it’s not a big deal. OVERALL- I say get them there worth it don’t think twice about it there more comfortable and they don’t get as war as the originals I hope this helps!

Perfect fit and finish as usual. A note to user. This is for the Astro A50. The pads a little thicker than the oem one. So it doesn't fit in the base well. But because they are magnetic, just pop one off and it fits. It goes back on in a second. So not an issue. The wc pads are worth the upgrade. Sound and comfort is improved.

So, I just ordered these for my A50 Gen 4. I really needed new cushions. I had originally had the old school mod kit you could get from ASTRO, which i was in love with. These do not seem to offer the same level of noise canceling as the astro mod kit did, and I think that the astro mod kit used a "softer" leather material. Astro mod kit was just over-all great, they were comfy, especially for those who wear glasses, and the noise canceling was just unmatched. Wicked really needs to push a line to try to match that. The wickeds aren't uncomfortable, dont get me wrong, the foam does feel good, but it doesnt form to your head the same as the astro mod kits did. Time will tell, its just something to get used to.

Feel great. Firm at first but quickly mold to your ear/head and block external sound but not completely. I can still hear my tv in the background slightly. The top head band is a major upgrade from the factory one. They feel soft to the touch on the part that makes contact with your skin. Very good gel quality inside as well. I would recommend. Very easy to install. Make sure you watch a YouTube video on how to remove the top head band piece. It’s a push and slide motion. Don’t risk breaking this expensive headset.
