I was looking for a headphone Amp so I could practice anywhere I wanted without having to lug around my bulky Katana 50 . After reading the reviews , I decided to give this a try. I had a couple of issues at first - 1. The jack didn't plug in snug on my guitar and 2. There was a lot of "static" even in the pre-amp. After a bit of digging I realized the issue was with the connector on the guitar and some of the same issues happened with the Katana as well. Once I replaced the connector, this works like a charm. The quality of sound is amazing and you can get a wide variety of sounds which should be sufficient for any style of music. The Equalizer is really good and even though it only has 5 modes but they are distinct enough to get a good balance without dedicated Bass and Treble controls. The bluetooth function is great and you can stream backing tracks/music without any delays from your computer/phone/tablet. The charge lasts a good 3-4 hours so you can get good use out of it without charging. You can use it while charging as well for really long sessions if you want. While this is definitely one of the more expensive headphone amps , but given it's versatility and quality I would say it is totally worth it. ... show more

    • Bass Practice Wherever I Want

Seemed like too many bells and whistles to justify a personal practice device, but I'm having so much fun with it that I don't mind the price at all. This thing is LOUD. You will hear yourself fine no matter how loud your space is. This makes it prefect to plan my active tones before I plug in. Bluetooth play along is also spot on with no noticeable delays while I practice with my tunes. I have not tried the recording features, but recording through USB 3 connection wouldn't be terrible. On that note, device still works like it should after the firmware update. You'll find the update on Fender's website. Last thing to mention: if you have a side body cable plug like I do, this thing is still very usable, albeit with some reach. Get a long enough cable on your headphones, as well. 40+ years of playing & been through many fx units in my day. Gotta say this unit is really impressive! For starters the size & portability is amazing. You'd think it can't be that great for that alone but don't be fooled. The stereo effects are very good with lots of options. Granted you can't dial in everything to your exact liking, but with the many presets & adjustments you can make, it's very usable. You can pipe in backing tracks via Bluetooth to play along and mix the guitar with the music easily. Very inspiring for a quick practice without all the fuss and restrictions of a full rig. Plug in headphones and play anywhere and walk around or stroll in the park. I bought a mini strat to accompany it so I can play on road trips from the passenger seat without my headstock in the drivers face. You can also plug it into your recording console or amps. Some challenges with it are as follows. The 3.5mm plug sticks out and is vulnerable to being broken if you happen to hit it. The fx buttons on the side are a bit awkward to access while plugged into the guitar. There's no presets so getting from one fx to another is a manual process. If you had a small male to female guitar cord you could velcro it onto the face or edge of the guitar to protect the cable & access the buttons better. I'm hoping Fender improves upon the design for future models, but for what it is, it's fabulous! ... show more
