It has a slide lock that will keep the iron safely closed to protect the heating surface for travel. The narrow design will help you easily style the shortest of hair. If you can get your fingers to lift the hair then you can use this flat iron. I'm glad I found this item at a good price and it shipped quickly. It comes in two colors for you to choose from. I'm glad to own this product.
