  • Mount for unit
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
The motor has enough power. It has so much power tgat the company should really consider paying attention to the mounting bracket and the additional handle for the universal mount. One handle snapped. The newer handle that I just received just continues to spin. The most concerning part is that once the motor is on...the connections on the disc continue to move like crazy so it's useless. They should consider putting cleats so it can seat and be tightened. Overall good trolling motor if it is can be used. Wish I went with the transom mount and just made the modification on my kayak to use it that way. ... show more

  • Good motor but cheep kayak mount
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
I bought 3 of these specifically for my kayaks. The mounting bracket has a nice design but there were two main problems. Fist the stainless steel nuts are too small for the plastic inserts and when you try to tighten down the clamps the nut will slip inside the housing. The second problem is its impossible to hand tighten the bolts enough to keep both the horizontal and vertical bars from moving when you turn on the motor. I had to use JBWeld epoxy to keep the nuts in place and create a special key that fits over the bolts to give me more leverage to tighten down the nuts. Hopefully this will solve the problem. The steering handle is very flimsy so you have to be careful when using that as well. The motor seems to be of good quality but the propeller is made of thin plastic and that could be an issue if you happen to run into an debris while on the water. ... show more

  • Great Trolling Motor and mount for the money
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
I wasn't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. The mount others complained about is not that bad....since I own multiple kayaks I was able to easily switch the mount over to those before deciding which ones it performed best with. Now I plan to order a 2nd and 3rd motor with mount kit. Yes, it does appear to be flimsy.....however it does the job...I had no problem with it. It mounts great on my 12 ft perception pescadora...and will push the boat along on top end at 4.5 mph. Which battery to use was a big concern...I knew I needed a marine battery... lithium while ideal cost more than my kayak. I went with Mighty Max 12 35ah, mainly because of the weight I believe it weighs around 18 lbs and other marine batteries weigh 35 plus....which was more than I wanted to lug around. After trying it out, I found I typically had 60 -70 percent of battery life after alternating between trolling at low speed and going at high speed to my fishing spot a mile away from my dock. Typically I fish no more than 3 hrs tops. I will probably order a second battery just to see how far I can go before the battery gives out. (I found at 60-70 percent it would recharge fully within an hour or less. Back to the Watersnake trolling motor...the motor mount combo is hard to beat..the fact I can use it in saltwater if I choose makes the choice even more obvious. ... show more

  • Kayak bracket received NOT the same one in photo
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
I ordered this product, T24 with the kayak mount expecting to receive what is pictured in the photo, with the mounting bracket containing the rod, which according to Watersnake is "patented, swivels, adjustable at so many angles, etc.". Well, what I received was NOT what was pictured. I received something different and it does NOT work. It's horrible. The part that is supposed to connect the mounting bracket on the actual kayak to the round, "swivel" mount is NOT a rod, it's some jagged plastic thing that does not hold. Not only that, the jack bar is soooo tight that you need excessive force to insert it into the two mounting collars. I even tried to grease it, didn't help - don't attempt to adjust it while on the water you'll fall in. Those 2 round mounting collars don't open up enough for the rod to slip through. And they don't pivot that well on that upper round mounting bracket. We have a boat, a two person canoe and two kayaks and I am experienced with trolling motors. We have a Minn Kota Riptide 45 lb for the two person canoe and I wanted a light weight one for a kayak. I did a lot of research prior to ordering this, I went on youtube and watched many videos, including the one from Watersnake themselves with the Aussie guy showing how to mount and use this very product. The mounting bracket I received is NOT the one shown in these videos. If it's a brand new design, they need to scrap it and go back to the drawing board. Either way it's not what I ordered. I sent an email directly to Watersnake in Australia, waiting to hear back from them, meanwhile, since I only have 30 days, I think I am going to return it for a full refund. I still want a trolling motor for my kayak, and although the kayak mounting bracket stinks, the motor is fine, although I think they should have 3 speeds and not just 2. Price is good and I am off the Chesapeake Bay and need the salt water model. Contemplating jury-rigging a lightweight motor mount and ordering one with the standard bracket, and I might give Watersnake another try because their standard mount says it only weighs 11 lbs. Will keep you posted. I hope this post helps you. ... show more

  • Great product and service 5+ stars
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
The company is great to work with. I had a small delivery window and they made sure the product was there on time. The motor works great is a good value, light and mounting the bracket was easy. I read several reviews that said the bracket was bad, but I read between the lines and realized that I was getting a good engineered bracket that just needed a little tweeking and knowing how to use it. A few wing nuts and making sure it was adjusted tightly is all it needed.. The bracket looks good has a small foot print and I don't have an ugly slab of wood and plastic pipes sticking out. I am ordering a second one for my wife today! ... show more

  • Okay motor, absolute trash mounting hardware!
Size: 24 Pound Thrust Color: Kayak Bracket
The mounting bracket next to useless. Water snake should absolutely ashamed of the hardware problem, the nuts are too small for the recess is sits in! So when you go to tighten it it just strips out and free spins. You end up having to redo virtually all the fittings to have a stable mount. Trash materials and design. The motor is fine for the price, the prop is extremely light weight so buy two. ... show more
