I got this to be able to have a hand print to save forever lol well my kid pulled everything out of the box and immediately went straight into making a ninja turtle. Now I’ll forever have another thinks turtle to remember, and I love it lol Thankfully there is a lot of clay to use in this little set so we will have enough for hand prints and more ninja turtles as well. It has a little sculpting tool, a paint brush and two little paints. The only reason I docked a star is because it came with the shipping label directly on the box covering the front of the packaging so I wouldn’t say it’s giftable or presentable to anyone when receiving it like that. My children had a lot of fun playing with this clay set. The colors are really fun and it includes a little paint and a paint brush if you want to give it a metallic look. The clay is definitely very firm and difficult to mold, but I supposed prior to this we are used to using play doh. We baked it for 15 minutes after their creations were molded per the instructions, but it didn’t get as hard as I was expecting. It felt pretty similar to the non baked clay. My daughter was so excited to get this craft kit and wanted to start it right away, which is really saying something because she usually is too busy to engage. That being said, appearance-wise, this would make a perfect gift for a 10 year old girl. We were both frustrated at the quality of the clay- it was very difficult to work with, even just rolling it out in to worms as instructed, the clay was crumbling and breaking apart. Once we got the clay put together and it was time to prepare for the handprint the rolling pin kept sticking to the clay. By the time we were finished with 1 bowl I did end up discarding the remainder of the materials because there is no way that I would choose to do this project again. We did end up with a cute project that doesn't fully dry and harden like I have known other clay products to do (although the instructions address this and say that it is normal). Overall, I would say this is a cute craft project and I enjoyed spending time with my daughter creating memories. I deducted 2 stars because I do feel like the quality of the materials took away from our experience. ... show more

Made these with my nearly-3 year old. There was enough clay for her two hands and one of mine. To get the curved dish look, you have to curve it that way before it goes into the oven. As seen in the photos, it includes everything. A decent quality paint brush, 2 colors of paint (primer gray and a tan), plenty of clay in different colors (it arrives as small 1/4” thick squares for it’s easy to handle), a thick hollow plastic “rolling pin” (looks like the white plastic piece that holds toilet paper in the bathroom), a rolling mat large enough for average sized hands, and a plastic clay knife. The rolling pin works fine, but it’s light so I used one of my marble rolling pin with parchment paper over it, so I didn’t have to work as hard. The directions it comes with are well written and give you ideas for patterns as well as what temperature to bake at. There is a simple line drawing illustrating accompanying each design method. My oven needed to bake it a few minutes longer, so if it seems too soft leave it in a little longer. The directions let you know that it’s going to have a rubbery feel when finished, but you can feel the difference. When it’s not done baking it feels a little softer then the clay when you first open the package. When it’s completed, it’s not tacky. ... show more

Got this for my friend! We had such fun making these clay handprint bowls!!!! It was very easy and fun for both of us! We cut out her hand print on construction paper. Then she picked out the combinations of colors that she wanted for each bowl. The clay was a little hard to form at first, but, once we got the hang of it, it was a breeze. She flatten out some of the clay and combined colors. Then she put her cutout hand print down and cut out the handprint in the clay. Then we placed the hands into bowls and baked in the oven. Everything turned out pretty solid once baked. I had my doubts, but, they really turned out good. This is a great price and a great experience for a child! I would highly recommend. ... show more
