Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, should own this product! I keep packets of the Jel in my kitchen and first aid kits in my car and Go Bags. Whether it is a steam burn or a small burn on a wire rack in the oven, this stuff ends the pain, swelling and scaring from a burn. An extreme example I had was when I was helping a friend on a jobsite and I had just finished watching him weld a joint onto a pipe. We carried the large 4 inch pipe inside to install it in an overhead position. My friend had started to position it exactly where it needed to be when it slipped and came out of place. Yeah, I know I had just watched him welding it to a very high tempurature, but I still instinctively thrust my hand up to stop its movement. Instant searing pain! I looked at my hand and saw an imprint of the pipe and fitting now clearly seen on my palm. Not good!!!! My friend told me to go outside and submerge my hand in the ice cooler. I remembered I had Water Burn Jel packets in my first aid kit in my car a short distance away and ran there instead. My hand was really throbbing now. I pulled the kit from the car, grabbed two packets, cut them open, and squeezed both onto my palm. I used a finger to distribute the jel equally across the burn while still thinking this burn is going to last a while. I wrapped the burn with dry gauze and headed home. This was about 2PM. From that time until 8PM my had throbbed but I wasn't in pain. At 8PM, I removed the gauze to check on the jel and although it had dried up mostly, there was only minor redness, no pipe imprint, no bubbles/charring and no pain! A burn like this could have easily been a third degree wound and I know that because I used to be a medic in Afghanistan and Iraq. I didn't find out about this stuff until my return but I have used it several times in the kitchen and once on the jobsite and this stuff is a miracle! Think of it like insurance, you never know when you are going to need it but when you do, you'll be very happy you did. ... show more
