The media could not be loaded. I am very pleased and impressed with the Jungle Field. Before actually ordering, I did reach out to Praesidus to ask about some of the observations and experiences others have had with this particular timepiece. Among them were: "The Praesidus website states it uses a Meca-quartz movement. This is not true, it’s a standard 1hz movement that ticks once a second....a bit misleading by Praesidus.". Rachel with the company assured me that the movement is indeed a VH31 Meca featuring a 4 ticks per second as described on their site. I can see that the watch that arrived is not the 1hz one-tick-per-second but is in fact a smooth 4 ticks per second sweep. My next chief concern was that"...The second hand doesn't hit the markers...was hoping that either my copy wouldn't have that issue or I'd get over it eventually. However, after a few weeks of wearing it, it's impossible to ignore and driving me crazy." --- This would drive me absolutely nuts as well. Praesidus did say that a slight misalignment *can* occur due to the nature of quartz movements and that strict quality control minimizes this as much as possible. The warranty DOES cover this so I felt confident moving forward with giving it a go. I can report that mine does hit the marks right on the nose - so no issue here on that account. I will say that the canvas band for my small wrist (6") is kinda long-ish so I'll give some other straps a try - like a Barton or something else. But the watch itself has been fantastic this first week of wear. For me, it reflects the simple, clean, utilitarian look I was seeking for an everyday timepiece. ... show more

The small (34mm) case, the full sweep second hand and simplistic design fits my minimalist taste. I did changed the watch band. The strap Praesidus sent was too large for my wrist.

The media could not be loaded. There's so much to love about this watch: a slim 34mm case that sits perfectly on my small wrists, a minimal dial with any branding, an elegant domed crystal. My only complaint is that the second hand doesn't hit the markers. I've heard about this issue from other reviews, and was hoping that either my copy wouldn't have that issue or I'd get over it eventually. However, after a few weeks of wearing it, it's impossible to ignore and driving me crazy. This feels like it shouldn't be an issue, especially since cheaper watches from Timex and Casio hit the markers every time. ... show more

My only complaint is that the lumens just are not bright enough. I need to use my phone's flashlight to start up the lumens especially when checking time in pitch darkness. On the plus side, the warranty information is on a dog tag, which is a nice touch. Fix the watch's glow-in-the-dark capability and I'll be happy, ... show more

This is a beautiful looking watch. Slender, proportionate, and aesthetic. Keeps good time, as one would expect from a decent quartz movement. The watch let me down in one pivotal regard. The crystal, which is supposedly sapphire coated, is extremely scratch prone. A light brush against a gritty outdoor tabletop, and the watch face was checkered with faint pale scratches. The otherwise attractive look of the watch is now marred permanently, unless I change the crystal to something legitimately durable. This was disappointing, as I really like the overall look and feel of the watch. Be aware of this if the β€œsapphire” crystal is a selling point for you, as it was for me. ... show more
