Description

A watch winder is a device with an electric motor that can wind your watch when you are not wearing it. Due to their limited power reserve, automatic watches usually run down in two or three days if you stop wearing them or winding them up. When your watch stops, you must reset the time and wind it up. If your watch has additional functions (like date, moon-phase display, perpetual calendar, etc.), resetting them may take a lot of time and require certain skills. With an automatic watch winder, you can easily keep your watches wound and ready to go! Fancy Brick watch winder description:The 45 winding programs provide compatibility with any watch models. You can choose the number of turns per day from 650 to 3600 TPD in combination with any rotation direction. There is an electronic controller to count every turn for supreme winding precision. 3 rotation directions available: clockwise, counterclockwise and bi-directional (mixed). In the mixed mode, the rotor rotates clockwise and counterclockwise alternately. The rotor is very quiet. You can hardly hear it spinning. The rotor stops at the same position after each winding cycle for a better display of your watch. The watch pillows are made of soft polyurethane and will never scratch your watch or bracelet. The pillows fit watches with straps and bracelets from 6.9” to 8” (17.5 to 20.5 cm) in girth. You can use the watch winder for men's as well as women's watches. The stackable design of Fancy Brick watch winders allows you to build winders for multiple watches using add-on units like bricks. One AC adapter in combination with Fancy Brick Accessory Board can be used to power a set of 12 watch winders. The electrical contacts on top and bottom surfaces provide power distribution among all items in stack. Accessory boards and add-on units are sold separately and do not include AC adapters.

The Good: The modularity and expandability of these winders is where the product shines. Have one watch or many, no problem, just buy the number of winders you need and stack them like LEGOs and your good to go! Also, the fact you have full control over winds per hour and direction make these winders the most versatile out there. I also love the variety of color options available which makes keeping track of what wind settings are on which winders easier than having a multi-watch winder set where each winder looks the same. The Bad: The “feel” of these devices is cheap – the plastics, the internals, the cover – all cheap, low-quality plastic. Ordinarily I wouldn’t care about this, but at $135 per winder this reeks of huge markup on the part of Abest. The finish looks real good though, and so far no scratches, so the materials complain is a minor gripe. Another minor gripe which is the same for all 3rd party winders out there – would be nice if winder had speeds high enough for Seiko Kinetic watches, but no one offers that so really not a surprise. ... show more

This purchase replaced one that recently failed. I can’t say how old it was because I now have 8 of them on the Four-Wide power base, Boxy offers. I looked at every design out there before deciding the modular approach suited me best. The price per each is reasonable and I won’t be surprised if their average life span is more than 10 years. IMO the only reason to choose any other winder option would be because you want to keep with a more classic, wooden multi-unit, to suit a room’s decor. And I considered that. The issue with those is, if the unit fails, then all the winders in that unit are out of service. The convenience of having all your automatic mechanical watches ready to wear, regardless how long since worn, is very desirable to me. If you just started collecting, you pay only for the number of pieces you now own. As your collection grows, add another affordable single winder. And the power base allows support for up to 3 rows of 4 winders on one power base with one plug-in wall-plug power supply. After several years with this modular system, Boxy is still my choice. ... show more

The Pros: It is compact, very quiet (next to my bed and I cannot hear it), can be set to watch manufacturer’s TPD (turns per day) and directional recommendations. The Cons: Either the winder is not achieving the TPD, or Ball does not have the correct TPD specs listed on their website. This is the second Ball watch I have owned and purchased it about five months ago. I bought this watch winder for it as I really wanted to follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for 650 TPD, multidirectional. I have not worn a watch more than once a week as I have been working from home. So I will wear this one maybe once a week to run errands or for an appointment. The rest of the time the watch is on the winder. After about a month, I looked at the watch winder and noticed the second hand was not moving—at all, even after a rotation on the winder. I took the watch out and “spun it” about a dozen times and sure enough, the second hand started moving again. I wore the watch for a full day and it kept time perfectly. So now I am at a loss. The next setting on the winder is 785 and I am not sure if I need to increase the TPD, if the winder is faulty or what is happening. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate the advice. It is about a $3k watch and over winding it may cause damage. I am also reaching out to Ball for advice. Thank you. ... show more

I received an automatic watch for Xmas and since I don’t wear it every single day, I wanted to keep it wound while not in use. I took a shot at this despite the price and so far it has worked as I hoped. The motor is almost totally silent. I can’t hear it at all if there is the slightest bit of ambient noise in the room. It keeps the watch wound and ready to go. I still think this device is over-priced, but it works so I’m happy with it. ... show more

Read all the reviews, compared product specs and features and finally decided to give this winder a try. I could not be happier with my decision as this winder is an absolute gem. Has worked flawlessly and near silently since it arrived. I'm 68 years old so MY ears may not be as keen as yours. My only, only negative comment is that the orange led on the front of the unit is quite bright, especially in a dark room. Simple enough to remedy with a piece of electrical tape. Stackable design is a plus for those needing multiple winders for their collection Will be asking Santa to bring me another winder and an accessory base for Christmas. ... show more

If you have a large wrist and you fear that the band will scrape the inner cylinder - rotate the watch and put the strap against the 2 u shaped holders that move with the watch. This is the only limitation of this design I have had to overcome. I have $1000 winders that also have issues so this one is a bargain. Awesome winder I compared against others. The smallest winder that I know of. Looks cool, modern and techy. Very quiet - you won’t be able to hear it. I dinged it one star because it has a front orange power light. I keep my winder on my dresser so the orange light at night isn’t exact ideal. I simply just turn the unit off at night now since my auto watch (like most) has a power reserve. One upside is the power button is on the front where others it’s on the back so you’d have to move the unit to get to it. ... show more

I have an Invicta that is a little heavier. So on rotation sometimes it makes a small noise as the weight of the watch shifts. But it is secure and the feature of stopping after a full rotation, pretty cool.
