Used this for the first time while fishing in Canada for Walleye and Northern. It is a super smooth reel and holds up super well for mid sized fish. We caught dozens and I had no issues. With a little weight on the line it will cast very far.

Wow I want more like this one. I purchased it for one grand son that needed to up grade his fishing. I want to replace my own reels with one like this.. This can be for left or right handed. Just switch the handle to the other side. It is heavy duty and easy to use. Our grand son is a lefty!

First one purchased and delivered in a timely manner, but the reel was defective since it would not retrieve the line, button couldn't be pushed, and nothing could be done to get it to work correctly. Did an exchange through Amazon and the new reel seem to work great, at first. Let my 11 year old grandson use it and after a short time he came to me with it and asked me, "papa, what's wrong, this is stuck." So disappointed in this reel since the same thing happened to this replacement. Line stuck, button would not push and could not move handle to retrieve the line. Opened the cover and still couldn't get it to work. Since I bought this for the grandson's visit, this really stunk. Ruined the day. And now the return window has expired. What a waste. ... show more

Worked ok at first. Reeled in a pb bucket for '23. Over time it got noisy and sticking. Then more and more. Then when reeling in line it would grind. Had to back off the drag to quieten it down, then had no drag. Then it started getting a lot of tangles under the spinner head. After about 6 or 8 of those in an hours time and the stiff grinding with no drag I decided to toss it on the ground and let someone else f with it. Dumped my 33 for this bee. Going back to a 33. That's my story and I'm sticking to it ! ... show more

I like to keep a spare rod/reel on my kayak so I purchased this items as a backup. Within a few uses the return action is a bit sticky. That said, this reel casts beautifully. For me, closed face reels are very easy to use from a kayak, and offer just a bit more control when casting. This is not a high dollar reel, but it works well for my needs. Probably wouldn’t buy again but nevertheless satisfied with what I got for the money. ... show more
