Its a nice flat rug, with a soft surface, and a non slip backing, but when it was shipped to me it was folded which created lines in the fabric that would not come out, at least on the dark color I ordered. I put it on a hard surface and blasted for like 5 minutes with a high powered jet nozzle on a garden hose, and let it dry flat. That worked pretty good. Not perfect, but much better than putting weight on it, and letting it sit for 24 to 48 hours which was suggested to me, and that did nothing. I did suggest to the company they ship there dark colored rugs rolled to avoid the lines. Thanks

The mat feels soft and is able to lie nice and flat. I personally prefer a mat that has a touch more thickness to it, but if looking for a simple thin mat that is soft and provides a distinct landing area, this does it well
