Its not as stable as the one I used in the hospital and the wheels dont roll quite as good. So if you are not strong or a little unstable standing I would recommend ones with two brace bars accross the front for stability. This one works fine for me as i am healthy and strong and have good balance. I got it since it has skis if i need for outdoors and they could deliver it to me overnight. I like it, because it looks nice, but ... I am adding the following edit: I ordered this walker five weeks ago. Today after very little use, and that only inside the house, I noticed the rubber handles are splitting apart. See the attached photo. Following the the original review: The normal way to navigate up and down stairs with a walker is to have the walker sideways with one side now down a stair and the other side higher a step up where you are (if going down the stairs). You then use the now highest handle to stabilize yourself as you place a lot of your weight on it to down a stair. It is the opposite for going up stairs: With the walker sideways, one side at your height and one side down a step. You then put weight pressure on that highest side as you press with your arms to go up a step/stair. However with this walker, when doing that, I end up being very uncomfortable putting much weight on that upper handle. The reason being, I am/you are, trusting the single front horizontal brace and the locking mechanisms that are normally used for folding the walker, to support a whole bunch of your weight. I am not confident that this walker is designed to support the kind of pressure someone navigating stairs will be putting on it. ... show more
