first one rusted through, replaced with a new one today. Note that unlike the photos, there are ridges in the pipe bends. I did have to shorten it about 1-1.5 inches as well for a good fit up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- edit- I had purchased and installed this, the muffler, and the tailpipe at the same time. I had to replace the tailpipe today because it rusted through at the hanger. While checking for leaks, I noticed this (photo). A little bit of soot around some weld booger. Seems like there was an incomplete weld and someone tried to fix it with some tacks. I don't know how I didn't notice this for so long, but I ground it out and fixed it today. Just a reminder to inspect yours when you receive it (unlike me). ... show more

Overall, a very affordable and quality piece of metal. Unfortunately the slip-fitting side of mine was a bit too large to fit into the tail-pipe the way the stock part I was replacing did. So I had to use an angle grinder to shorten it. Once shortened it fit great. The stock piece slides into the tail-pipe quite deeply, so I guess this is somewhat understandable. Don't forget to order new U-Clamps (or you can order a 2-inch circular clamp like the tailpipe uses (works better than a u-clamp). Make sure you transfer the heat-shield from the old piece onto this piece as this pipe is right next to the gas tank. You'll also need to get a new gasket on the flange-side. If you have a leak, before ordering this part, make sure you actually need to replace the part and it's not just a failed gasket (which is very common around 80-100k miles). I suggest getting 2 gaskets and installing them on the flange side, or ordering exhaust-gasket putty or "exhaust leak stop". The seam in my truck always leaked even when it was stock, after installing a new gasket, and adding a coat on both sides of leak stop, not an ounce of air escapes. Lastly I replaced the part this attaches to, and used stainless steel bolts, which you can get at your hardware store, or NAPA. They are cheap and it's not a bad idea. ... show more
